Ciuld someone please explain how do I calculate Vmax & km with and without graphs on the mcat?

Thanks in advance.

Well with the graph to find the Km you would do x-intercept = -1/Km and do y-intercept = 1/Vmax

Honestly that’s all you really need to know about calculating Vmax. You should know kcat = Vmax/[Et] and that efficiency equals kcat/Km. ([Et] is total enzyme concentration.)

There’s also V = (Vmax*)/(Vmax+), but I’ve never had to use that.

I don’t know why this is strikethrough or how to fix it. Sorry.

Just wanted to chime in and express how important this concept is. I had around a half of dozen of these questions on my real deal. I would say enzyme kinetics is the second highest yield topic on the MCAT after amino acids.
