Yeah, I do. I just wasn't sure whether or not I should use that on my AMCAS app. It's basically [email protected], so it's pretty legit. is there a way to change your contact info for schools after apps are submitted?
Yeah, contact info is one of the few things you can change after submission, though when I changed my contact info on AMCAS, I also e-mailed all my schools so that it wouldn't be missed.
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I work at a research job and I have received a publication with my name. When writing about the job in the EC section, could I just include the reference/publication thereor do I have to create a separate EC (under pubilcation) and write it there.
I just assume putting all my stuff I've done in one job is better than separating it into multilpe activities..... is that ok?
You can do whichever you want, depending on how you want to group things. If you want your publication to stand out, then put it in a category of its own.
I am concerned about my descriptions for the activities/work section.
The reason I am concerned about this is because I have written much less about my actual duties, but rather, what I learned from them and how I think they make me better prepared for medical school and beyond. essentially, i've written 30% description and 70% what it means to me.
My concern is that I do not explain enough about the activities and that when the initial screeners go through my application, they will skim through and miss a lot of important things. but i didn't want it to be like a bullet point of things i did.
any suggestions? advice? comments? THANKS!!!!!!!
I think it's better to say what you got out of the experience than go into vast detail about what the activity involved. If you think your description isn't good enough, mix it up some. Once you get an interview, the interviewers will typically ask for more information.
I think I have a problem with transcripts. I have four institutions I've attended, but all of them are on one transcript, thanks to study abroad or all being in in the same consortium. So on my Official Transcript Status, I have one transcript received and three transcripts "Not Required".
However, I just submitted my application, and this is what my application status is:
Submitted to AMCAS - Waiting for Transcripts : Applicant has certified and submitted application but AMCAS application is pending processing while AMCAS waits for transcripts.
Anyone know what the story is here? They received the one transcript I have a week or two ago.
It'll always say that when you initially submit your application, even if all your transcripts have been received. If it's still there now, you might want to call tomorrow.
so a couple of my med schools require letters from specific people, so I found letters to satisfy those requirements. I've sent all my LORS (about 7 of them... ~5 from profs/PIs and 2 for special programs) to my career center. However, my career center told us to select "Letter Packet" on amcas because they will just send them all to amcas together as a packet. However, I do not want all 7 letters to go to my med schools. those extra 2 letters for the special programs would be irrelevant for most other med schoools, and of course I know they get pissed wihen you submit too many letters. i asked my school if there was any way around this issue and they said that I should just send out my letters as a packet to amcas, and then when secondaries come in I can pick and choose out of those letters which ones will go to which schools. I was under the impression that if i send a letter packet to amcas, ALL of my listed schools will receive ALL of the letters. Which one is true?
If you send a letter packet, all the letters in the packet will go to all the schools you send that packet to. I would go talk to your career center about sending the additional two letters separately, if possible.
