OK so i am going to write an update/letter of interest to a school.. I just called the admissions and she told me to do this since she couldn't give me information over the phone. But, what do I write in it? I mean, I haven't been doing to much lately that is new.. I might get a new job, but I wont figure that out until after the holidays (I am interviewing for the job on the 20th).. i am VERY interested in the school.. so how do I say this? I live very nearby also and can go to an interview with short notice, do I mention this? I just graduated college... idk.. I need help, thank you!!!!!!!1

also, who do i write a letter to? admissions committee or the dean??

I would write the letter of interest to the admissions committee. I would explain how you are interested in the school and why you would be a good fit. I wouldn't really mention that you can come in a short notice, I think the interview invitations are pretty standard, but who knows... maybe someone cancels on short notice and they would give you a call. You don't really have anything to update... just mentioned you graduated and can't wait to continue the process with x school of medicine.

Is this a school that you would, if accepted, withdraw from all other schools? Or do you want to stop short of that?

The former may have some effect. Not sure about the latter, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.

I think it should say "I want you, you're gonna want me, so let's do this thing"!!

if i was accepted to this school, id drop all other schools in an INSTANT

yup, well I just called, I address it to the admissions committee..

I'll shoot you a PM a little later when I have more time.

Honestly though, I don't see how it could hurt to make it a strong letter of interest or even a letter of intent. Definitely emphasize the ties you have to the region and that you want to stay there and why CCOM is a great school for you and why you're a great candidate for them. Then when you get accepted you can tell AZCOM I will take your interview spot. 😉

Haha EEL08 is already partying too hard.

 Yeah I am feeling a little giddy. However when my son hit me in the face with the back of his head I came back to earth a little bit. 🙄

hehe its funny you know what school im talking about 😀

i dont think it could hurt.. and the lady advised me to do it, so why not!!

and honestly, if i did call and cancel AZCOM i would totally PM you first and ask you your name.. because I would definitely say something about it 😀

do you think in my letter i should mention my fiance or just leave him out of it.. i always feel places look down on that.. although I dont think that they should.

IMO, no fiance. I think that mentioning any baggage that could dictate your decision could be seen as a negative. Obviously, its not that simple, but they will want to know that school will have your undivided attention for the next four years. Your letter should mention you and the school and probably not much else. I'm on the blackberry now, but when I'm on the computer I will tell you what you need to tell them.

^^ thanks TT, you are right.. i figured that about the fiance.
