HPSP Stipend to go to $30,000/year

Hey, currently, the bill for the increase in HPSP stipend is in bill H.R. 5122 (EAS version) section 564. If it passes into law, we will get up to $30,000/year in stipend alone. If you go to http://www.loc.gov/index.html, then click on THOMAS in the top right corner and look for the bill in its most current version, EAS, you can find the wording yourself. As far as I can tell congress is not in session right now and will be out of session untill Sept. 5. The House and Senate have created a special conference to work out the differences in the the two bills they approved seperately. The senate has picked out their conference officials but the house hasn't. Once the conference gets together and works things out we may get that stipend increase. The bill is called the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007. The National Defence authorization act of 2006 was signed into law in Jan of 2006 so maybe the 2007 will be ready by Jan 2007.
