Day 3 Results:
Your route today (Finger Lake to Rainy Pass) contained one of the more difficult stretches - not long, but steeper than hell, with many mushers doing everything they can to slow down the exuberant dogs while praying to keep the sled upright. It's a common area to spill, and depending on conditions most go brake-only because of obstacles that are easy to get hung up on - no drag to keep things slowed.
Anyhoo, you arrive at the lodge at Rainy Pass. You chat with the checkpoint officials, bed down your dogs for rest, food, and water, and head into the lodge. You hear all the arguing about the deaths of SOV and PP... and you throw your voting slip into the pile.
Frontier justice has resulted in Trematode being taken down to the water, loaded up with rocks, and tossed in the hole in the ice that's used to get water for the dogs.
Blub blub goes Trematode. Wiping their hands, the lynch mob heads back up to the lodge for dinner.
While chatting at dinner, you hear Abney complaining that she's starting to see things on the trail. Things that aren't there. You chalk it up to the many spills she had on the last leg.
