II/secondaries ratio. what was yours?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I only had to fill out secondaries for 4 schools.

If you only count schools I did secondaries at then its 50% for II.

If you count all schools I applied to then its 62.6%

Maybe he means schools like Mayo, where there is no secondary..? Mayo is the only school I know of like that, though.

Damn.

I shouldn't care about any of this because I'm accepted at a US-MD, but the high percentage people are making me feel insecure. ****in SDN man.

Haha I feel ya.

10 ii out of 25 completed secondaries so 40% but I had a good number of reach schools that weren't impressed with what they saw

16.66% II/Sec

50% (so far) II/Acc ; but i also turned down 1 II which was not counted for this line's calculation

EDIT: some of these numbers are crazy awesome btw...which probably made the application season all the more awesome and all the more nerve-racking

13 secondaries and 6 interviews (46%)

3 acceptances so far (waiting until march to hear from 2 more)

(7) 2°, (3) ii, (2) acceptances, (1) "on hold" status. [#ii/#2° = 43%]

6 Interviews/7 Secondaries 2 acceptances so far (1 more interview to go on and waiting on 2 non-rolling schools)

85,7%...not bad

Looks like it is time to sign up for an MCAT course and prepare for next application cycle.

8 Secondaries / 6 Interview Invites / 5 Interviews / 3 Acceptances (thus far). Very happy with this application cycle. 😳

75%

70%, but applied late. Still haven't heard back from one school. Two more weeks before most decisions are released!

Applied to 25 schools (way overdoing it)

Rejected pre-secondary to 2, did not submit secondaries at 8 of them, and of the 15 secondaries I submitted I received 12 interviews.

12/15 = 80%

Of the 6 interviews I attended I'm sitting on 2 acceptances, 2 wait-lists, 1 rejection, 1 waiting to hear back,. My last interview will be this weekend.

It's been a good cycle thanks to SDN 😍

It's a numbers game. 25 seemed to be in the right ballpark, especially if you apply somewhat late. I'm working to get in where my girlfriend matches so here are my numbers as of 2/23/2013

1° - (28 schools including one md/phd program where I hoped to transfer in to - probably 50% average above my stats)
2° - 26 (one school turned me down, I turned one down)
II - 7 (In my opinion II is a bad acronym for Interview Invite since it matches the roman numeral for "2" aka secondary)
Acceptances - 2

No wait lists to date.

2° to II ratio 26:7 ~ 4:1

You should see my sexy color-coded application progress excel spreadsheet.

I finished my MCAT in July and AMCAS on 8/29/2012. 1° applications sent in October. Latest II came this week.

To everyone over 50%: insane. Well done.

45% here. Only attended 2 of the interviews, accepted at both. 😀 Doubt I'll get any more invites, but it's a possibility.

34% and withdrew from everywhere I hadn't heard from after first acceptance.

I applied a little late (end of august/early september)

18 original apps with roughly 4 reaches (top 10)

9 II

Attended 6 interviews

Withdrew from 3

Accepted 6

30 secondaries completed, 11 II's -- 37%

10 interviews attended, 7 acceptances -- 70%

0 secondaries completed
1 interview attended
1 rejection received

18/25 = 72% ( I withdrew from a lot of schools after I realized I couldn't afford to travel anymore).

Oh man, you have balls (or ovaries) of steel.

I'm surprised that people can apply to so many schools (unless mommy and daddy pay for it :meanie:). I was only able to realistically afford two schools (if you consider travel cost if given interview) and I work 40 hours a week with a descent paying job.

All I have to say is thank goodness I was approved for the FAP.

Understandable, I guess. I work too, and I filled out about 15 secondaries and went on 11 interviews. I was applying MD/PhD though, so they pay for your travel and hotels and stuff, which is nice. So I guess the only costs I really had to pay were the AMCAS and secondaries.

Yeah, but those can add up quick (they're what, like $100+ per school?). I didn't see any point in paying that money to even submit secondaries if I had no real interest. Bottom line, for various reasons, was that I wanted to go to my IS school.

That's pretty cool that they pay travel cost for MD/PhD.

Cut my costs in every other way imaginable. Made so many sacrifices... Oh well.

You know the old cliché, if you really want something....

interview/secondary: 82%
acceptance/interview: 75% (so far, expecting to be lower with march hitting)
