I'm actually more worried about an invite accidentally getting filtered to my spam folder or me accidentally deleting it in the morning email sweep. I found myself wading through the Viagra-for-hot-transgendered-donkey-anal-sex emails from Therefore S Botulism in hopes of finding an interview email I missed
Just heard from George Washington by email. My first interview, yay!
.... JHU by email and eras today 🙂
Hopefully those other school will get in gear... finish downloading applications and make some choices....

4 posts, 4 interviews? hmmm...🙄
Actually Baltimore has improved during the past several years. However, many folks still continued to be scared away by the city.I have been pondering this for the past couple of months, so humor me (and yes I am making sweeping generalizations). At any point in the last 50 years, has Baltimore been a livable (ie something to do besides visit burned-out buildings) city? I've only been through there twice, but it was not a pleasant experience (and admittedly limited).
ok when should one get nervous eckk!!

Depends on what you plan to do. Say for instance you're an IMG who got the complete application submitted in early September. A month has gone by and you've only heard from one or two places. It's probably worth applying to a few more, depending on your comfort level.ok when should one get nervous eckk!!

UNC by snail mail.👍 Does anyone have any advice as to good areas to look for housing for a family in or around Chapel Hill? Congrats to everyone on there interview invites!😀
Yes. 😛Are you trash-talking me again?! *sniff, sniff*😛
UPMC (weirdest interview invite 😕 )
I was wondering if anyone if getting their airfare paid for or hotel paid for when invited for interviewing. I have gotten discounts on hotels but that's it. I'm trying to group my interviews according to location to cut down on costs. Any word on programs doing this?
I don't think that happens very often (if ever) in pathology.
Have to wait for attending postions for that treatment..
What about out-of-the match contracts? Does that still happen? I've heard it's possible especially in path.
UPMC =?U of Pitt?
Man do they still do group interview days?
That's silly stuff

St. John's Hospital, Detroit, MI
St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix, AZ
Mt Sinai, email
we don't invite the people we want earlier and make the 'tweeners wait or something. I can't remember what all minimum things they need, but something like letters of rec (at least 1 from a pathologist), transcript, board scores, +/- personal statement -- you DO NOT need to have your dean's letter in to nec. get an invite.
A better question to the one above is: Do attendings and residents pimp the applicants on slides at all during the "tour" after interviewing and if so do they compare applicants based on this after interviewing session? (invite to watch how residents signout cases for example)
How is the atmosphere when applicants are interviewing on the same day. Some of the interview invites seem to last all day so does this cause any friction between fellow applicants that anyone has found so far?
Just an update on UVA: it is my understanding that we won't be sending out interview invites until October.

i think alot of places are like this.
how are people strategizing their interview trail? it is so tempting to accept every invite that comes through at first but then i feel like i'm going to end up with a schedule loaded with places that aren't high on my list without any time for the ones i really want to go to.
also if you get your applicatoin in early is there a time when you can be pretty sure that you are not going to get an invite? like by the end of december?
