Applying for medical school is like trying to hook up with a no good guy...you put all this work into it then wait and see if he calls you back...gahhhh

Hahaha I wouldnt know anything about hooking up with a no good guy but i'll take your word for it.

Not killer, but good enough for AZCOM (at least an interview lol) so I'm happy.
Plus a DO letter from a general surgeon. And some others that I think are pretty decent. 800+ hours volunteering half in clinical settings. I'm not a shoe in anywhere I don't think but I was just shocked by RVUCOM's outright rejection.

I also got rejected from RVU, but my stats are on the other end of the spectrum lol high gpa, low MCAT. I would have been really pissed but I got an interview from CUSOM like an hour prior.... But now I kinda am pissed about it lol

Tell me about it. It was around 930pm when I found out I had an AZCOM interview, then the next morning I woke up to a DMU interview invite email. Great 12 hour period.

Yea when I woke up at 7am for work and checked my email I immediately saw the DMU invite and freaked. Best way to start the day.

Yea it's definitely a great way to start! I turn my phone off when I go to bed, so every morning I get a bunch of emails that came overnight or before I woke up. Among that bunch was DMU and I was instantly awake 🙂
 
Hopefully LECOM-E and AZCOM send out more interviews, and LECOM-B starts sending out theirs. Nova and KCOM would be nice too. 🙂
 
I'm thinking LMU and NOVA are going to start sending interviews this week.
 
I'm hoping for some LECOM-E love this week. *fingers crossed* 😍
 
Woke up this morning to an interview invite from LECOM-Erie! Interview is on the 17th of August, that's coming up fast!

Congrats! When did you submit your secondary? My status still hasn't changed yet.

Yeah sorry guys. I never like it when someone is just, "Hey I gots me a intervee-u!" and then doesn't give anymore details. I was just excited, forgive me.
I sent in the secondary when I got the LECOM-B secondary back just before or right at the first of July. I hadn't actually been invited to fill out the LECOM-Erie secondary. Stats can be found elsewhere on this post but they are 3.32 sGPA 3.45 cGPA and 30O MCAT.
 
I think I would choose PBL as
My first choice learning pathway, but I just found out they use videos for anatomy NO CADAVERS with the PBL. that's a huge disadvantage in viewpoint. Oh well. At least I gots me a intervee-u! Har har

I am super happy for you! I got my LECOM-E secondary on 7/9 and returned it the same day; my level of patience is pretty much nil, so I've been trolling SDN to see when they send out invites, so thanks for the info! 🙂

Me too...hopefully we're not much more than a week away...Im sooooo impatient for my first invite to get things rolling

I know this might be a stupid question, but I think it's pretty important. I haven't received any interview invites, but if/when I do, what should I say, what information should I be getting, and what are some tips that I should keep in mind?

The obvious things that come to mind are:
1. Thank them
2. Ask for their name and their contact information
3. Ask for the available interview times
4. Ask about accomodations?



Anything else?

I've only got 2 invites, but both of them gave me a list of dates to choose from. You don't have to ask about available dates or times unless the list they give you doesn't have one that you can attend. You could ask about accommodations, or you could just look through their website to find a list. AZCOM, for example, has a published list of hotels they suggest you stay at.

Also, I wouldn't bother thanking them for the invite. I did a search about this a couple of weeks ago and I found http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showpost.php?p=10275657&postcount=3, which I 100% agree with.

Email titled LECOM Bradenton Interview Date that contained information about your day, who to confirm with, and some attached PDFs about the school's PBL.
 
I'm so neurotic. I got an invite on Friday, one yesterday, and since I've got nothing today I'm feeling like crap. That's just plain ridiculous. I think I'm gonna go hit the strip in Vegas this afternoon and try to forget about it. Lol
 
I am not sure which thread to ask this question in and I don't think this requires a new thread, so I am just going to ask it here:
Is it OK to submit LORs to schools that haven't sent me a secondary invite yet? My stats are not low enough to screen me out anywhere (i think) and my app was just released last week so I am expecting invites from some of the schools soon.

My school just sends my LOR's to all the schools I applied to even if I haven't done the secondary yet. I'd say you're probably good to just send them to all your schools.
 
Make sure you guys check LECOM's portal -- they sometimes update it before sending email invites.

I felt the same way the day after DMU, which was the day after AZCOM.
 
Im feeling like this since the DMU invite. Freakin AZCOM passed on me cause of my crappy 26 MCAT so now I'm feeling even MORE neurotic.
 
At least you guys have invites so far. I keep staring sadly at my empty inbox.

this describes my life. SDN is starting to affect my self esteem now. 🙁
