Does anybody know about NOVA's interviews? Open/closed file? Who does the interview? How long they last? Etc.
I'm sure it's posted on another thread somewhere but I only have internet on my phone so it's difficult to search. Thanks

The DO info book says it's open file, one-on-one, with 2-3 faculty members. Here's the interview feedback page: http://studentdoctor.net/schools/school/nsu-com/survey/26 (scroll down to "questions")...looks like it's around 20min 🙂

haha got a DMU ii this morning as well. Also my fifth, also unexpected, and feeling excited/relieved but overwhelmed. I can't be selective because I have no clue which schools I would rather go to. I went into this just wanting to get in somewhere, every school that invites me for an interview becomes my favorite.

But this is becoming a problem because I have no cash to pay for this stuff right now. I had savings but my wife got cancer (no joke) so in about two months of not working and paying for her medical expenses I now have to put each interview on a credit card.
I know it's a big investment, and I shouldn't be stingy now, but I just don't know enough about the schools to even begin to select which ones I would prefer. I've tried to figure out what matters most and I think it's the following:
Good location for activities/good neighborhoods for my wife and 2.5 yr old
Good networking for clinical rotations and therefore residencies.

Other than that, I'm stumped. Even with those two criteria I am having a hard time ranking schools.

Hey I got ATSU SOMA ii today also. Those are my top two criteria, but it is hard to really know which school has better rotations. I have also added a third criteria. Tuition+cost of living. If it is really a toss up between two schools, might as well have less debt.

Hey thanks guys. It was thyroid cancer, which has one of the best survival rates. She just had to get a thyroidectomy and one radioactive iodine treatment and she's done now, but yeah it's scary having cancer strike a loved one even if it's readily curable.

Yea man i had a scare similar to your situation concerning my fiance lately. Luckily everything turned out ok. Sounds like they caught your wife's cancer before it spread?

Just got an interview from WVSOM today. Saw it on the portal, no email as of yet. They scheduled it for me. Sept 19. Good thing it doesn't conflict with any of my others. Man, I'm going to be a freakin traveling circus from next weekend until the end of September!

I'm gonna end up getting in trouble at work for the number of times I check my phone for any e-mails from schools! Haha. I submitted both LECOM secondaries on my phone during work. "Uh, gotta run to my car for a minute." *Submit*
