Friday afternoon was my first choice too, but they were filled, so I got my second choice. Dr. Fauber sent me an email this morning to tell me. He also asked whether or not I wanted to stay with a student on Thursday night. I think I'm going to do that so I can get an idea of what it is like to be a student at Temple and so that I can get to know some of the current students.

Maybe they filled up all of the interview dates and forgot about me :scared: I am just hoping that they are swamped with people to email/get back to. So, I will give it another day before I freak out. lol. Seriously though, I would just really like to make the travel arrangements.

Stay with a student if you are able to! I think that would be great.

Anyway, after I get it clarified, I'll let you know if we're attending on the same day. You are going to BU too right? What day did you pick? I picked the 17th.

Yeah, I'm going to BU on the 17th too. Although, I never got the official email. It was weird: the prof I want to work with called me last week to say that she wants me to come in for an interview and that I would be getting a call from the program coordinator with details; but I never got a call from the program coord. So, I called the program coord. yesterday to double check that I really was invited, and she was like, "oh yeah, I was going to email you at some point with the details..."

I'll also be at Temple for the afternoon session on Friday, and hopefully will be staying with a current student thursday night. woohoo internet message board-nerd party!
Also, I'll be at BU on the 17th- when i spoke to the professor last week, she said I would be receiving a whole pack of information, but I havent heard anything since. I assumed that it would be coming through regular mail. She also said that there was going to be a dinner thursday night with current students.

ive given up on duke and uconn. about to give up on yale. havent heard a thing either way about rutgers, umass-amherst, miami(fl), vandy.

I called umass amherst a few days ago and the secretary said the profs had contacted everyone for interviews already that they will be contacting (I didn't get one either). I also am about to give up on Yale, but does anyone have any definitive say on when they will be done calling people for interviews?

Also is anyone else going to the Penn State interview? They said they will be sending out an itinerary for that weekend but I haven't gotten anything yet.

As far as Vanderbilt, I talked to a prof there that said they were contacting people about interviews on Feb 10th (I heard from her on sat so they may be done contacting??). I of course ran into the problem of already having an interview, I just have that kind of luck (I know I know, I'm def not complaining about it). She said they were trying to pick an alternate day for those who couldn't make it and would get back in touch with me. She seemed very nice about it, almost expected that some people couldnt come cause it was a popular weekend.

Butterfli73- I'm going to Penn State (the reason I have the conflict with Vanderbilt). I received an email from a student confirming when I said I was coming and the day I had picked for interviews. She just said that I would hear back from her about the grad student I'd be staying with and their contact info. I guess since neither of us have heard more, we shouldn't be too worried just yet, but let me know when you do know something.

For everyone applying to Yale, I was told that everyone that Yale is going to contact will be contacted by February 10th. I was also told that applicants have not been contacted yet, but according to the other forum (and maybe this forum as well) people are saying that they were contacted by Yale.

I'm going to Penn State too. I was contacted by a grad student confirming my arrival time and stuff, and was told I would hear from them when they know which grad student I am staying with.

I had the same situation with BU. My professor of interest called me and that has been the extend of it thus far.

In the meantime, if either of you or Psychoem (or anyone else for that matter) has questions about directions to BU or anything like that, I am relatively familiar with the Boston area and perhaps I could be of some help.

Which track are you doing, adult or child? What about you, UVAHoo? I am doing child, and the secretary called me to double check my arrangements. I initially told them I was staying with a friend I know who goes there (not in psych) but now i kinda wish I had chose to stay with a psych grad student for the experience and inside info. I hope that works out well enough. Which day are you guys interviewing?

UVAHoo - Did you talk to someone in the Clinical Psych program at Vanderbilt through the grad school or the Clinical Sciences program through the Peabody school of Education?

I am doing adult and I am coming for the Friday interview. I'm getting to Penn State Thursday night and leaving Saturday afternoon. I'm kind of nervous to stay with a graduate student since it will probably feel like a 3 day interview, and I debated about it for a little bit, but in the end I figured I should just take advantage of the opportunity.

I'm also doing adult but going to the interview on Sat at Penn State. UMAPsych, just out of curiousity, who contacted you (ie which prof is primarily interested in you)? (you can do a PM if you don't want to do a whole post just to answer).

To answer the Vanderbilt question, I actually asked her about the 2 since the websites are different but they claim to be joint. She's a prof in the Arts & Sciences part and she said they originially started separately but have since in fact merged to be joint. The difference is that they are housed in 2 different buildings and that the A&S people do adult and the Peabody people do children. She said they would all be interviewing together, etc.

Ok BU people: check your emails- I think it came and it looks like it was sent to everyone. It mentions that more details are to follow regarding the informal event on Thursday night.

Although I think its preferable to stay with a student, for those of you staying in hotels, I would recommend the Hotel Commonwealth- it is directly across the street from the interview site.

Ok so today I did get the BU email. There was no mention of anything informal on Thursday night. Anyone know differently?

I just got the BU email too.

It says: "In addition to the interview day itself, current students have organized an informal gathering for students and applicants to take place on the evening of Thursday, February 16th. More information will be sent via email regarding specifics of the event."

LOL right after I wrote that, I actually read the letter and then I quickly tried to edit out my mistake but you beat me to the punch! Better here than emailing Nicole with a really dumb question I suppose.

I got an e-mail today from my person of interest at South Carolina about a phone call: I think their formal interview is late February. I applied also to Yale and Vanderbilt Peabody, but I haven't heard anything yet ... maybe this is a bad sign. I e-mailed someone at Vanderbilt, who said she thought they hadn't contacted any one yet, but she was head of Peabody so she might not know. I also e-mailed someone in psychology, but I haven't heard back.

Hey Everyone I need some advice. I have an interview at the UNiversity of Arkansas on feb 19th & 20th. I currently reside in NY. I am having extreme difficulty finding a good flight which is not to expensive. I seen a flight that I wouldnt mind taking which would get me to arkanas 5pm on the 19th. However, the dinner and reception is at 6pm that day... I dont know what to do people. I feel that I will be extremely tired on an 8hr flight afterwards (1 or 2 connections). However, the other earlier flights per se 3pm cost 450-500 bucks and the ever earlier ones that day cost 700 bucks.... so my question to those who been on an interview before, is planning or havent... what should I do? Just get there 5pm and pay a $366 bucks although risk being tired and i guarantee I will.... or attempt to get there 3pm. I definitely have no plans on paying 700 bucks to get there in the morning.

Has anyone heard back from Emory's Clinical program about interviews? I'm totally freaking out here.

Okay, the administrative assistant at Vanderbilt Peabody's department of psychology and human development said they are not done notifying people, and that they will be done tomorrow at the earliest ... so there is still time.

Has anyone heard from UVM, University Illinois Chicago, or GW? For those who applied to URI, I called yesterday and the grad. program coordinator said they will notify applicants about interviews the first or second week of February.

Unless University of Arkansas is your first choice you should definitley take the cheaper flight. Getting there at 5:00 is fine, you should be able to make it at least part of the dinner and reception. As far as being tired... drink lots of coffee.

Definitely don't freak out. According to a previous post the faculty just met yesterday to discuss candidates, so give it some more time. I applied and haven't heard anything yet, and it seems there are a few others who applied there as well and haven't said anything about it either. Give it some more time for sure.

Does anyone have any information regarding U of Memphis or SUNY Buffalo? I haven't seen anything posted, and the schools themselves arent being too helpful...

I don't believe Suffolk has offered any interviews, but according to the website they will contact individuals by e-mail by 2/15, for an interview weekend on 3/3-4. I also haven't heard from University at Buffalo or UVM.

Just received an interview invitation to Vanderbilt (Peabody) on Feb 10. My professor of interest contacted me via e-mail about it.

congrats Joetro. I have a friend who interviewed there last year and LOVED it!

Has anyone heard anything about Drexel or Clark????

Just received an interview from Iowa March 4-6 from my professor of interest via e-mail.

Congratulations, Joetro! Thanks for keeping us posted.

Hi Joetro! I also received the Iowa invite so I'll be seeing you there! Congratulations! I've had nothing but positive experiences with the faculty there thus far (responsive to emails, etc.) Who did you apply to work with?

Did any body hear from USC, Umich, UNC, Wayne State, Washington (Seattle), UIUC.

Lets me know if you have any information.

Anyone know anything about U of Florida?

I've noticed people have posted that they've contacted schools to see when they are going to be extending invitations to interview. I would like to do that with some of the schools I've applied to but am unsure what to say. Are you just asking when interviews are and if they are still inviting?

Yes that's pretty much what I said when I called. I asked if the secretary (or whoever the website said to contact about admissions) knew if faculty had invited people yet for interviews (which they had so the date didn't matter). But I'm sure you could ask if they knew when the interview weekend would be if they haven't invited yet.

I finished my telephone call from my professor of interest at South Carolina, and I got invited to an interview there February 27.

hello all! i wish the best of luck to everyone. it is really nice to know that you all are in the same boat as me! i've applied to only 7 schools, so i'm nervous.

to contribute: i talked to fordham and pitt about interviews.

fordham: no one contacted yet, they'll contact next week by email, and interview dates are feb 3rd, 9th, 10th

pitt: no invites yet, they'll send out invites in a week, interview dates are feb 24th/25th

hi everyone, i'm kind new to the boards (well, i've been reading for a few weeks but this is my first post).

i have an interview at temple on mon the 3rd, anyone else interviewing that slot? i've seen a bunch of fridays on here!

has anyone heard anything from arizona st, uwashington, or u of denver? did anyone apply to unlv? if so, does anyone know what's going on with accreditation?

this whole process is driving me nuts! it's good to have people to be nuts with :scared:

CUA hasn't finished reviewing all applications yet - As of Tuesday, they said 3 more weeks for interviews Feb 20-21.

Has anyone heard from UF, UMiami, or UMich?

Slightly off topic, but has anyone else received an e-mail from Suffolk (arrived today) about the OUTREACH Fellowship? It basically says that although no admision decisions have been made that if you want to get a Fellowship you should apply now.

Now, the deadline is 2/17, and the latest you should hear about interviews is 2/15. I know I shouldn't be looking too much into this, but does it make sense that they would tell people who they weren't accepting/interviewing to even bother applying for fellowships?

Anyone else receive this e-mail who applied to Suffolk?

In case anyone else applied to the clinical program at Loyola University Chicago, I talked to the secretary today, and she told me the faculty have extended some interviews, but they are not done giving out invitations. The interviews will take place on 2/17 and 2/24/06.

Hey everyone,

For those who applied to UNM-Albuquerque, I just spoke with the graduate secretary and the selection committee has not yet met regarding applicants so it may be a while yet before any invites are extended! Hang in there everyone...

I'm in total shock. I posted previously that I ran into an interview weekend conflict but that the lady at Vanderbilt was really nice about it and said they were looking into alternate times for interviews and that the day they picked must have been popular. She said she was going to get back to me yesterday. I didn't hear anything all day yesterday or today so I sent her a brief email checking in with her and saying again how I looked forward to meeting her and how I thought her work matched my interests well.
So her reply was unfortunately they won't be able to bring me in for an alternate date as they are forced to make these difficult decisions among several good candidates.
They took back their interview because I already committed to another one!
I just don't even know what to say, I don't understand why she told me they had even discussed an alternate date. I wonder if she invited whoever else she was going to and they wowed her on the phone (in hindsight I thought I could have been better on the phone). I'm not sure what to do... Their date is Feb 10th, my Penn State interview stuff starts the morning of the 11th- the 10th was a pizza party. For a second I debated trying to go to Nashville the 10th and leave that night for Penn State and miss the pizza party. I'm just not sure I want to do that though, it would be expensive, hard to pull off, and I feel like I would be begging her to give me another chance (I mean even if I offered that she might still say no, that's ok). I mean I was really excited about Vanderbilt, but I kind of have a bad taste in my mouth now. And I couldn't even put one program over the other without visiting, both professors of interest seemed like a really good fit (working with different populations but still both good). I'm sorry for the really long post, I just wanted to know if anyone had anything to say... My friend here just told me to not worry about it and say I'm sorry to hear that, please let me know if that does change- I'm still willing to come at an alternate time.
UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
(ps not sure if it makes a different but the lady is new there, so I did wonder how that would be different)
