Is it possible to make friends/relationships in the residency period?

Studying at Oxford, I've only made friends with a few medical students due to the tutor and collegiate system. I was wondering if there will be a chance to make friends with individuals who are physicians like myself, during the residency period?

Your co-residents will be around you in some of your most vulnerable moments as an adult. You'll likely either love them or dislike them. I've made a few excellent friends.
