Quick question.
I'm applying to advanced positions. Now, for a lot of these places I'm pretty certain I'm going to get an interview at, and so I'm going to go ahead and apply for a prelim medicine position or transitional year at the same city/institution, and hopefully set it up so I can interview at the same time for both.
However, there are other places which I may apply and not be accepted for an interview, or maybe they get cut because I can't fit them in my schedule. I'd prefer to delay applying for prelims or transitional years in these areas until I can be sure I'm actually going on the interview.
So my questions is basically, is it okay to delay applying for a transitional year or preliminary year at a program until I've already offered an interview there for my advanced position, or should I just hedge my bets and apply there early in September?
