This isn't a busy time for AADSAS...I imagine they'll be able to get your application out within 2 weeks of receipt...but it *possibly* can take 8 weeks...as some of us found out in september
That is not true! It will take at least 4 weeks for AADSAS to process anything!
IMO, I think you should wait, save you a lot of money!!!
Here are my reasons (probably similar to other posts).
1) Your GPA is great! BUT You have not taken your DAT yet. As you probably already knew, DAT is not easy and you need TIME to prepare for it. For some people, a month would be enough if you dedicate that whole month to study only DAT. However, for others it may take longer. And if you do not do well on the first time, you have to wait for 90 days before you can retake. This means you pass the deadline.
2) Most schools are already filled with their interviews and acceptances. Some schools now only interview students for alternate lists. So you are competing for something that does not guarantee you a spot for this year.
3) If you apply next year, you will have better chances for sure.
4) Remember that many schools have secondary applications for you to fill out too. By the time you receive the secondary application from the schools, you will be really late. It tooks 4 weeks for my friend to get a secondary application from AZ school even though she applied in August.
5) You can SAVE a lot of money if you apply next year and guarrantee yourself a spot. If you apply this year and you do not get in, you have to reapply again. That is too much money to waste, not to mention your self-esteem will be degraded with rejections (rejections that you can avoid simply by applying early).
My overall advice to you is: a) give yourself enough time to prepare WELL for the DAT and atleast enough time to retake it (if you need to, but try to do well on the first time though), that means at least 1 month of studying + 90 days of waiting for retake b) apply in May or June with AADSAS (even without a DAT score, that is perfectly fine), c) with your GPA and hopefully 20+ on DAT, apply from 5-8 schools.
Good Luck!!!
