I've been doing some research on the Drexel DPMS program and I'd like some outside opinions to see if anyone believes I qualify.

I'm not a URM.... I do feel like I'm socioeconomically disadvantaged though. Father worked three jobs to support our family, mother worked as well. They separated recently so I no longer have any real family support for school anymore. I had to go to community college for two years and then transferred to a state school. Consistently worked during the summer to support going to school, 2 jobs at times. Working this year while going to school to support myself. I'm the first person in my family to ever consider higher education and had to do everything myself from fafsa, to understanding the medical school process. My family faced some hardships when we lost a family member as well....

What do you think SDN? I do know that there are those who are much worse off than me, but I think this could be for me as well...

Go for it, but apply to better schools than Drexel that have programs for disadvantaged students. Such as Georgetown. There's a list of programs in the GPA enhancement sticky.

Best of luck to you.
