Yall… I just checked the portal and my interview date disappeared and they’re asking for an official transcript 🥹

cant wait to be classmates!!! I also got my mcat back, which was disappointing compared to my FLs but it was enough to put me in Track 2 but as a retaker, I am beyond thrilled to say I dont have to see that dumb test again and hopefully prove myself through this program.
Hey I also just got my MCAT back, do you know what the cutoffs are? Also if we are in Track 2 but our offer was for Track 1, will we still be able to attend?

could a dpms alum explain what this means, it was in the dpms terms and conditons

"I understand that my acceptance into the program does not guarantee my acceptance into Drexel University College of Medicine. Even if I fulfill all of the above requirements throughout my participation in the program, I still must receive the final acceptance to Drexel University College of Medicine by its Medical Student Admissions Committee."

is there a situation that you meet the requirements but dont get into DUCOM? or am i misunderstanding this?

A statement pretty much saying you could have the benchmarks met, but if you act out, you could get denied. Professionalism is also something that gets taken into account. But y'all know to behave 🙂 don't worry about it, as long as you have the stats, you'll be okay!

If you received an offer to be Track 1, it means you're going to have to retake the mcat during the year, and would have to meet a 502 overall (min 123 in each section).

Got accepted, god is great, congratulations to everyone who got accepted.

Is there any financial assistance available for tuition? Like FAFSA?
Yes! You should apply for fafsa asap, and grad plus loan if necessary

I'm accepted as well! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone soon!! Does anyone know when we'll be able to start moving into the dorms and which dorm we're staying in?
I'd reach out to Le about exact dates! Last year, move-in happened over the weekend prior to our first day of class, and we lived in Towers Hall.

For those who have been accepted. You will receive a very long detailed email from Le explaining all of this! Hopefully she sends it out today for you all or by the end of the week!

Congratulations, everyone!! I can't wait to see you all in a few weeks.

To those who have not gotten in and are still lurking—do not give up. We fail more times than we succeed, but in the end, you just need one chance to become a physician. I pray that your chance is coming soon!!

Go to fasfa website and submit a application, designate drexel as the school to receive your info. Then do the grad plus loan also on fasfa website

how long did it take everyone to activate their drexel account? i called it and it said ~2 business days

Did anyone else’s contract have last year’s information in it? I want to go ahead an accept before they can change their mind but I’m an adult, understand the binding nature of contracts, and have a bit of hesitation about signing a contact with incorrect dates and terms.

no

How long do we have until to sign the contract? I am a bit hesitant because there was a part in there that says that Drexel can change the terms of matriculation at any point even if we’re already enrolled.

"I understand that Drexel University College of Medicine reserves the right to amend the requirements for admission, acceptance and retention in the Drexel Pathway to Medical School program and that I may be required to meet these amended requirements in order to remain in the program."

Does this mean that Drexel can say during the middle of the program “actually, instead of a 3.4 you need a 3.6 to matriculate"? I want to get clarification before signing. Was this on the contract of students of previous years?

Definitely reach out to them about that. I wouldn’t sign something unless the dates are correct and I’m comfortable with the terms presented. I’m sure they’d be able to fix it easily!

Curious about this too.

Hi! DPMS alum here, this not necessarily true. I know people who were accepted at track 1 but retook the mcat before the year started and were moved to track 2. I would email Le to confirm this!

If you feel uncomfortable about the language, I would email Le but it is more of a general statement for the school to be protected if they feel the need to change requirements but it’s not a common thing at all. For example, they raised the requirements for matriculation starting this 2024-2025 school year but they announced it during the 2023-2024 school year and the current students were not affected. I wouldn’t be too concerned about this but you should ask for clarification. You definitely have to sign the contract before school starts latest but probably earlier

DPMS Summer Housing Information: The email says 'The cost of housing for the 7-week summer session will be covered by the Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Professional Studies.'
Are we not paying anything or it will be charged on the fall term tuition?

Fall term starts on July 1st so technically we will be paying for the summer classes under fall term. Does that makes sense?

hi! DPMS alum & incoming M1. congrats on your acceptance! yes, summer housing is free. summer classes will be charged under the fall term tuition.

In the past yes! If the mcat exam was taken prior to the summer session, which is a little too late right now.

What if we decided not to live in the dorm after summer, do you know how much is charged then?

May I also add that living in the dorm is free. There is no charge for living there. Whether, you stay one week or six weeks, no charge is applied.

Has anyone taken a look at their financial aid package yet? I'm a low income student and received the Fee Assistance Program by AMCAS, but my package consisted of a $20,000 federal direct unsubsidized loan, which doesn't even cover the cost of tuition, let alone rent or food. I don't have money saved that I can pull from. Can any students offer some guidance on how they afforded to attend? I'm stressing out about this

Hi I'm in the same boat! They offered me work study but Im not sure if I should take it since this year is so demanding. Unfortunately if you dont have any outside scholarships, I think you would have to apply for Private loans or a Grad PLUS Direct Loan. Which is credit-based! They will do a credit check.

Thank you so much! I will look into the Grad Plus Loan. Hopefully that would be able to cover all of our costs!

Hi, where can I find my contract for the DPMS? I already signed it but I am unsure which track I am in.

Hey everyone!!! Just to answer a few questions I've received:

You are considered a track 1 student if you need to retake the MCAT. You are considered track 2 if you do NOT need to retake the MCAT. Track 2 students take extra classes to help balance out the workload and make it fair. More of this will be covered during your orientation so don't stress. You'll get so so so much information blasted at you lol.

You will need to apply for the grad PLUS loans. All of us had to do it. There are no scholarships from Drexel and unless you've got someone bank rolling you 70k, then yes you are required to take out grad PLUS loans. The same will be for med school when you matriculate. There are private loans available as well, obviously consider those more carefully.

Lastly, the FB group will be going live very soon! We will be accepting people into the group shortly ♡. We are looking forward to meeting everyone!

Is anyone else having trouble trying to sign into Drexel Connect? It keeps telling me i need multi-factor authorization and I've set up the app, but it's still not working. I'm going to email IT too, but I wanted to check
