I was thinking of graduating from undergrad a year early and enrolling medical school a year early, if at all possible. This would require me to apply a year early (this year) to medical school.

To do this, I would need to take physics I and II this summer, along with the August MCAT.

I took general chemistry last summer, and it wasn't any big deal - pretty easy to handle.

The physics itself won't be a problem, because I'll be taking it at my regular undergraduate institution. However, is it do-able to take the MCAT prep course this summer simultaneously w/ physics and then the MCAT at the end of it? Will I most likely burn-out? Would this be dumb? I've taken all the other pre-reqs thus far, so maybe if I start studying now for the MCAT this won't be too bad of an option?

Any input?

Sounds doable. If you are working it might be a bit more difficult, but I was able to take Phys 2 and Chem 2 (plus labs) during one summer session without much of a problem. I also had a ton of free time, so you'd have plenty of time to do additional studying for the MCAT.

You've got great motivation bro!
I think it's most doable, especially if you're a hard worker and bright. Everyone says no summer courses, etc., but do it if you can.
The only other thought is that you'll have little buy-out chance if you get into the med school mix and want some time to be a kid. I put med school off for years, and I've LOVED life - nice little job to stash cash, traveled everywhere, vacations, etc.
Think about the extras, but do it if you're sure - and good luck!

Many people will give their opinion but if you feel you can do well with physics during the summer (I would imagine if you did well w/Chem during the summer you can do well w/Physics) then do it.

You still have time to prepare and take the Aug MCAT (which is what I'm going).

Being a slightly older pre-med I would not recommend waiting just to have some "fun" time. Life is short - work hard and you can make the world a better place.... and who says a busy doctor can't have fun!
