Is this MDapplicant real??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This has been discussed before. And definitely not. That mdapps profile has no chances of being real.

There was a thread about this in January I think. Completely fake

"Almost all interviewers had extremely low intelligence"

I really hope you aren't as stupid and naive as you appear to be, I wouldn't want you anywhere near a hospital with anyone I know inside of it!

from the MDapps:

Who said this was a good med school? The interviewer didn't even know what 'CO2' was

For those that don't know, only 2 people have ever made a 4.0 at Harvard, and they were brother and sister. Plus, it was at least 2-3 years back.

I remember reading about that a while ago...very impressive!

Are you serious?

What were their majors?

really? from what i've been hearing about grade inflation at the big h, it would seem more plausible that only 2 people didn't graduate with a 4.0.

lol!

You know now that I think about it, I'll bet some of the people who flame nasty comments on MDapplicants are the ones making these fake one, nice one people🙄

It does sometimes feel like one needs to be that guy (minus the arrogance seeping from the profile) to get into medical school doesn't it?

I thought it was pretty funny. (obviously fake of course)

haha, yeah, i remember reading this profile a while back. very funnt stuff. if you notice, all of the comments on the interview had something to actually do with the school. for example ,
1)duke: pie comment
2)columbia:seinfeld comment( the shows setting was in morningside heights where the campus is located, and toms diner is down the street from columbia)
3)dartmouth:beer comment (dartmouths known for drinking)
4) brown:being the newest ivy
5)stanford: co2 comment (co2 was invented at stanford...)

Most of the time, if you have to ask, it's not real.

To Pride: there are many people that use MDapps for its intended purpose. A few ******s stab themselves with pens doesn't mean the rest of us should stop using it to write.

MDAPPS should be boycotted...😡😡😡

Agreed. It serves absolutely no purpose other than to show off your accomplishments and get praise\hate mail for aforementioned accomplishments from others. You can try to say that it shows people where those with similar stats are applying/being accepted, but it's statistical only. It doesn't factor in essays/interviews.

That's actually very clever.👍

I knew it was fake right away because both football and volleyball are fall sports in the NCAA schedule.

Also, CO2 was invented several billion years ago.

i wonder if a black Harvard grad with 4.0, 44T and those ECs would actually get accepted to all of those schools. 😕

wow....nobody INVENTED CO2. Mankind discovered CO2, it always existed. It's like saying someone invented oxygen....geez, and the sad thing is you're a med student, AND you're not the only one who said that. Kudos to the American education system. Kudos.

lol

The elements were invented billions of years ago too.

What made you decide to apply to U of Toronto?

I'm a canadian citizen and I have alot of relatives in Toronto. Apparently, my writing section didn't pass the minimum cutoff, meaning that my application was thrown into a pile...

I think he would have an outstanding shot at all of those schools.

Oh yes, damn the American education system for the many students out of millions that think CO2 was invented. Of course the Canadian education system would never produce such fallacies **scoffs**

kudos to everyone

CO2 was invented by Al Gore!

Umm... not true.

Apparently the Canadian education system failed to teach you a damn thing about sarcasm. The sad thing is you're a pharmacy student.

i know, i made the co2 comment as a joke...im assuming he made the co2 comment b/c the stanford mascot is a big ugly tree

wow, you my friend are gullible. when i said it, it was obviously a joke, notice the "....." after my statement. and about the person you were replying to, i dont think the person actually meant "invented" as in someone invented it, rather, he meant "nature" invented it.....albeit on accident. lighten up brother.

Umm... not true.

I don't know if I believe only 2 people have made a 4.0 at harvard.

there was a girl on here in 2006, got into HMS for med school and went to harvard for ugrad. she had a 4.0 and 40 or 41 MCAT. I remember conversing with her a bit because she was tamil and into classical dance and music for several years. had other good stuff too including overseas clinical work, research with pubs, etc. but it was her artistic capabilities that made her stand out.

I went looking and couldn't find it. Google kept confusing "4.0 Harvard" with "If I get a 4.0 in high school, will I get into Harvard?"

Maybe I made it up? Sorry. 🙁

Don't worry about other applicants, guys. Just focus on your own app!

I recommend to you, good sir or good madam, a flexibility about your words. I do believe that I corrected the person I quoted by saying, "Also, CO2 was invented several billion years ago." Really there are only three interpretations of this (intentionally) incorrectly worded statement:

1) That there were people around billions of years ago to invent anything at all;
2) That I truly believe that "invent" is the correct word to describe the creation of something natural; or
3) That I assign the role of inventor to God.

Well the third is certainly true, but the statement was really worded as such to be silly. If I said "Actually, CO2 was created billions of years ago by fusion of subatomic particles into more complex elements and the joining of those elements by certain electrical charges," I would have just been an a$$, rather than silly.

However, I do agree that the American education system is insufficient and is failing students who are not brought up to achieve highly.

If you had thought first before typing the first time, then you wouldn't have to backtrack so much good sir or madam.

I think the point to remember is that CO2 was not invented by man. Stop derailing the topic with this mdapps profile.

You sir, have demonstrated a superior understanding of science and the definition of "invent". I too am aghast at such an ignorant and human-centrist comment. Thank you for that vehement correction.

Yeah, the flagging system isn't working appropriately at the moment...seems as though web spidering engines are following the link and triggering the flag on all profiles.

I'd like to say it's on my list of things to fix, but rather than keep patching over little flaws, I'm aiming for a larger refresh of the site.

In my free time during residency...so...by 2009.

There has been no backtracking. It's not everyone else's fault that you have a hard time following the course of normal discourse, which has a tendency to be interspersed with the occasional humorous or sarcastic remark, especially in an online environment.

Please read more judiciously next time.
