We all know the real reason people aren't matching is not because of the quality of clinical training, but rather that they push hard for specialty positions. Many IMGs are better off than US grads because they have completed a residency in their country prior to coming to the US, so they're already fully trained from the get go, not because training in other countries is superior.
 
The future of medicine is fine, I wouldn't worry. Current residents are plenty competent and you will be too. Source: physician parent who is in charge of pediatric residents at a large hospital.
