It makes me sick.....cheaters...

By the time he did all that he could have just learned the material

i agree. sometimes people spend just as much time trying to devise methods of cheating that they might as well invest the time towards a legitimate effort. i think it's a matter of wanting to be 'safe', ironically. if you copy someone's exam (provided they score well and you don't get caught), you might get a better mark than trusting yourself to take the same test. pretty dumb, but i think that's how they rationalize it.

You would be amazed at the people who still try to cheat even when you have different versions of the exam and have spaces between seats. I proctored general chemistry exams at my undergrad and people would discuss answers on the exam. People even tried to trade exam forms when they were passed out so they could be next to someone with the same exam.

One of my friends was in a biochem class last spring, and the professor has 3 different exam forms. These two students (who have been known for cheating apparently) always sat next to each other on exams. The TA who was proctoring the exam apparently pulled their tests aside when they were turned in because they suspected these two students were cheating.

They had different exam forms. They ended up getting the same score. They missed the same questions. And somehow their essays turned out to be as close to identical as you can get. They didn't get caught because the professor was not proctoring the exam and he did not catch them in the act. Apparently having the same exam grade and same essay, and missing the same questions isn't enough proof.

It really is a shame because its not that these two students aren't intelligent. They scored decent enough on the DAT to get accepted to dental school. They are just lazy. I just wonder if they cheat in dental school too. If they do, I'm sure it will catch up to them eventually.

I hated that our fraternities and sororities had exam and paper "vaults;" although that's not technically cheating, it does give them an unfair advantage over others.

Well some of the classes do allow people to keep exams so it is up to them to do whatever they want. Finals though are a whole different matter.

Why are finals a different matter from regular exams? What is the problem with old exams? They are old questions, study questions that can help you learn. If a teacher allows you to keep an old exam you assume that they will not repeat those exact questions. Old tests just give you a starting or ending point for your studies....

It's so weird what we pcik up on. I am deeply offended that you called these two people punks. I doubt it matters to anyone else, but being a punk, I don't like the use of that term to somehow denote cheating.

Wow, you make "punk" sound like a nationality. Kinda like Avril Lavigne in her younger years. I mean no offense, but I've never heard anyone else used the expression "being a punk" besides the shrewd canadian performer...

these guys will eventually need to pass the boards, which I can imagine to be difficult and hard to cheat on. If they get into dental school and manage to cheat their way through the exams, then they'll be screwed on the boards without any studying. No worries. Crap like this happens all the time.

And I'm sure God doesn't want you to have any feelings of spite either.

Well, at least one of them knew the material.

😉

Who cares.😴
It's their life to ruin not mine.

hmm...i used to cheat all the time. Remember when you're in like 4th grade and the teacher would give you 4 minutes to do 100 multiplication problems (2 X 2 = 4)? well, i always start before she says begin. 🙄

snitches get stitches

Every time someone cheats, a bunny dies. Don't do it.
