I was hoping a current Jefferson resident/med student or recent interviewee could comment on this.

I absolutely loved Jefferson - the PD was wonderful and the chiefs were great. I felt like I really connected with everyone and could do very well there. What keeps holding me back from ranking it #1 is the lack of block scheduling. When I interviewed there early on in the season, everyone basically made it sound like they categorically were refusing to switch to block scheduling. The rest of the programs I interviewed at either had it or planned to implement it in the not-too-distant future. My question is:

Are there any changes being considered in this decision and is there any hope Jefferson might switch to block scheduling?

I ask because I know when I interviewed at a different program earlier on, they said no block scheduling until my second year, but a current intern recently told me they will implement block scheduling as early as September of my intern year. So maybe changes can happen pretty quickly!

On my interview there they were pretty clear that they had no plans on switching over to a block system. It certainly won't happen anytime soon.

That sucks 🙁 The other program I referred to is somewhere I'd need a car and after this Nor'easter, that's the last thing I want to deal with! Block scheduling or pedestrian-friendly city... so torn! (yes, that's really what it's boiling down to)

just so you know...in state of emergencies public services ie police MUST get essential ie (you as a physician) to the hospital if you're car is under a mountain of snow.

Ok, but they don't have to get me home. Having a car really can be such a headache.
