So I was stupid and didn't get a contract for my job when they hired me and I've now been told that I've met the maximum hours for my employment type and will have to leave. They said they could try to get me into a permanent position, but that would require creating a new, permanent position, getting HR to approve it, advertising it, and then hiring me for it and they said it's very rare for that to happen. The problem is that I didn't know any of this and already submitted my primary listing the end date for the job as the end of next year. What do I do? Do I have to call and update all my schools?

Just leave it alone for now. You were honest to the best of your knowledge at the time you submitted your primary, and you don't actually know that you'll be unemployed. See how things play out and then send an update about your activities if it becomes necessary.

You may well replace this job with another. Wait until you know the end of the story.

No, just get a new job then update those schools on it after a couple of months or at an interview.
