Oh my god....it is comming!

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen to that. I almost don't even want to get my scores back at this point, life has been great without the MCAT in my life...
Isn't that the frickin truth :scared:

And does anyone else have friends/family who keep emailing/calling/asking, how did you do, what are your scores?!? I know they care but it's bad enough to think I could possibly will end up with bad scores and have to sit for another agonizing few weeks at the library so I can retake it without the rest of the world checking in on my performance!

yes yes yes. Coworkers, family, friends..."how did you do? When do you get your scores back? I'm sure you did great!" I just told my old man that if he doesn't hear from me on the 18th or 19th, then things didn't turn out so well. So he won't even have to call.

hahaha, we will see.

I work at a hospital and everyone knows I took the MCAT, and everyone knows my scores are coming out soon. They are all asking how I did, when I get results. They are all so excited, it makes the anticipation that much worse.

i know how you feel-same here. I keep telling them if I dont make a 30, you won't know what I made. to make matters worse, I can't retake it until next year becuase all the classes are full! argh!!

My family and friends are the same way. I think I'll probably turn off my cell phone and all other forms of communication on release day if things don't turn out well. I have a feeling I'll need a few days to pull myself together.

Hi! New here.

I also wrote the June 15th exam... I must say that reading these posts have both lessened my anxiety (finding others who thought they too did dismally) and heightened my anxiety (reading about those people who were averaging +30 or even +35 on practice exams who thought they too did dismally). So I'm not sure what to think. I guess well will all know in a couple of days.

technically it is 3 days 🙂

If we need to get technical then its not 2 days nor three days but a fraction somewhere in between. And since it could be as early as 12 am of the day they say score release it could very well be only 2 days left.

Back in the day when they did paper tests and there were 28k+ people to as much as 37k people if they gave you a date for the score release it could easily have been the night before around 10pm or it could have easily been right when the clock hit 12AM.

The AAMC is very weird like that.

How did they do score releases for the old paper tests? Was it online too and then they'd mail you a copy? Or was it just by mail?

Speaking of which, one school asked me to fax or email them a copy of my MCAT score. I'm guessing we don't get anything in hard copy to send these days, just the button to click on THX to designate schools, right?

It was the same as now. The only difference was in the test itself and amt of test takers taking it at a given time.

With it having been on paper before and longer, we'd get a full hour lunch beak, and the sciences would be 1 h and 40 min. with 77 q each. Verbal was 60 questions of which 1/3 of them came from 2 of 9 passages because 2 passages always had 10 questions while the rest had about 6-7.

The writing was 2 writing samples with same amt of time as now but lunch break was after Vr and before writing.

Score release was also longer in that it was a 2 month wait rather then 1 month wait.

Oh and as I said before, now it may only be a 4 digit number for the sample size of test takers whereas back then it was like 28000-37000 or more students taking it at a given time.

Oh and you can do that "create an official MCAT score" thing on Thx. Its at the bottom. That gives a code which they type into some website and use that to see that its official. That's probably what they want if they say hard copy. However, usually MCAT scores get uploaded onto your AMCAS automatically. Both old and new scores get uploaded.

People always think they did dismally but most people do near their averages. Just keep up your faith.

Man, I hope you're right. This is my last week of a research job that I've been working full time in since winter, so I want this week to go as slow as possible so I can get all my work finished up AND as quickly as possible so I can find out my score. Then again, if I find out my score sucks on Wednesday, the rest of the week will be kind of worthless. Yeah, the more i think about that test, the more i think i didnt know anything. crap!

I'm so with you. I swear I know close to nothing at this point. If I have to take it again on August 9th I don't know how I'm going to cram all that info back into my head again.

don't worry about it man, it'll come back, like riding a bike.

Do they usually post the scores at 12AM or at some later point during the day (july 18th)?? Do they ever post before 12? I can't wait any more.

I took the August 2006 version (paper-based) and they released the scores a day or two early, and actually just after midnight (it was a thursday night/friday morning I believe, instead of late friday night).

Then again, the CBT seems to have its own release style. 5pm-ish is probably right.

Yeah I think that is because that was in the days when Oct 15th was the deadline for first set of schools and scores for August test dates would be out in October so they probably got it before those deadlines passed.

I'd think that would also have a big effect because back then half the applicants would probably be people who were taking the august test as there were only 2 test dates last year and the years previous to last year.

I keep on seeing a 26 for some reason...I'm preparing for the worse and getting ready to flush another $210 down the toilet tomorrow. I just hope for a good score because I'd rather spend some of that 210 on some nice bourbon 🙂

the weight thing wouldn't work b/c the page would never fully load; I think one of those water drinking birds would work though

You know why I love being on the West Coast--when I wake up at 9am, there might be a chance that they are already posted! Yes, we all get them at the same time (technically), but I won't have to be an impatient maniac until 5pm...only until 2pm at the latest (hopefully).

Good luck to everyone! i'm really hoping i don't have to retake considering then it might be too late to apply this year, but if i have to then i definitely will. ahh i can't wait any longer. 😱

Maybe I should just stay up all night hitting F5...

Wow. Thank you so much for saving me the time in the future I would have otherwise spent right clicking and clicking refresh / clicking the refresh button. And I thought I knew all the useful little computer keyboard shortcuts...
