Hi guys,

Outfitting a new procedure suite and needing a C-arm unit. The distributor that the practice is using is offering purchase "deals". I've already discussed with them why we may be better off leasing the machine, but they want to buy it outright.

Machine #1-OEC 9800-$77000

Nice pictures (not excellent) with mediocre service package for 3 years.

Machine #2-Comed 950-$82000

I have never even heard of this company. Does anybody here use this machine?

It is a brand new machine, right out of the box. It has the 5 year manufacturer warranty.

Any advice regarding which to go with?

We have two Comed machines. Pretty decent images, I haven't seen an OEC 9800 image in a while for comparison, but our units get the job done well. Better than an OEC 9600, which I had been using previously. I'm not sure of the model numbers, and our machines are at least 5 years old. One issue that comes up is that the collimator gets stuck.

You can do better on the OEC 9800 price, depending on the year. Just throw the quote around to a bunch of vendors, they all try to beat each other.

My Comed produces pretty good pics, it was a Demo that I got for about 60k. Not as nice as the half million phillips allura I used to get to use but it definitely gets the job done.

COMED does have decent images but they lack support in US market. Make sure any unit you purchased is supported with well trained techs within U.S.

And if anyone's interested, there's another model that will allow you to bypass 'bow and horsey dance requirement'. lol

I have a Genoray in one clinic. What a piece of junk.

I'm curious as which Genoray model you have. Their older 2090P had issues but their z7 units units have very high satisfaction level in the market. And if you're not happy with it, you can always trade in & upgrade? to newer model or OEC?
