This thread is for discussing applications to Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the 2024-2025 (class of 2029 hopefuls) cycle.
"A course grade of D or F on a transcript at the time of application, in any required course, will disqualify the application. Required courses with a grade of D or F that have been repeated or replaced, and the grade improved, will be accepted." Seems like your geography grade won't be an issue.Hey everyone, hoping you could provide some insight or experience with this? I noticed on K state Website there is a clause that states “A grade of D or F on a transcript at the time of application will disqualify the application.” Is this in regards specifically to the pre-requisites or is it in general? I ask as I unfortunately got a D- in my first semester of university back in 2011 in a geography elective and it would be a darn shame if that was the great gatekeeper for my chance to apply to this vet school! 😰
Thank you, appreciate the response! Was this the info provided on Vmcas?"A course grade of D or F on a transcript at the time of application, in any required course, will disqualify the application. It's from the KSU websiteThank you, appreciate the response! Was this the info provided on Vmcas?
I actually emailed them about this and admissions said that they are not requiring the CASPer exam this cycle! I hope that helps.Hi! First time applicant to KSU, but this is my second cycle applying to vet school. The KSU admissions website doesn't say anything about CASPer being required, but the VMSAR page on AAVMC says that it is and to watch the website. I'm assuming it isn't required this year since it isn't on the website but could anyone provide some clarification? Thanks!
I applied to KSU previously and was waitlisted for an interview. They sent me the email that I was waitlisted at the same time they sent out interview invites. I never got any communication about that, and just had to put two and two together when their interview period was done that I didn’t get off the waitlist. I would think that anyone who is definitely not getting an interview will be notified at the time they send out invites to those who do.Their website just says "Applicants are notified and invited to interview." I'm gonna assume those who will not be invited just get straight rejections, correct?
Yes, interview decisions are sent out together (invited, alternate/waitlist, denied).Their website just says "Applicants are notified and invited to interview." I'm gonna assume those who will not be invited just get straight rejections, correct?
Last year, we got interview decisions on 11/17. Two months later, I received an email on 1/18 when interviews concluded that I would not be receiving an invite. It's nice they let you know instead of ghosting! However, always treat a lack of acceptance as a rejection until notified otherwise. Especially since I heard that KSU puts a LOT of applicants on the interview waitlist. I haven't heard of anyone on here being taken off it. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!)I never got any communication about that, and just had to put two and two together when their interview period was done that I didn’t get off the waitlist. First time applying to KSU! I did a program there this past summer and fell inlove so fingers crossed! I had a question that I was wondering if you could answer? Does everyone receive the interview preference email I read about in past threads or do individuals only considered for waitlist/interview receive it?Hi everyone! I am a current 4th year at KSU. Feel free to ask me any questions, and I will hopefully see you all at interviews in January!
Oh no! Hope your foot heals soon! Last year interviews were held the first week of January.I was also wondering, I know traditionally interview invites are given out mid November, but does anyone know when interviews are traditionally held?
I recently broke my foot and have to be in a cast until Dec 4th at minimum and was hoping to avoid having to show up in a cast lol

As much as I would love to hear back this upcoming week, my guess is it’ll be toward the end of the week of the 18th. Last year they sent interview invites on the 17th, and the year before that they were sent on the 24th.Again, I know we are supposed to hear in the next few weeks about interview invites, but Kstate is the first school I’m supposed to hear back from at all so I have been a nervous wreck! Do yall think we are gonna hear next week or the week before thanksgiving break (since break is so late this week)?
I'm glad you feel some relief! but wrong thread 😅View attachment 394985Received this email this morning. Well the silence has broke at least.
Hi there!I would love to hear back this week. I'm wondering if it would be a good question to call admissions and asked if they have an idea on when interview invites might be sent out?
Thanks for sharing! I never knew my patience could be so tested.Hi there!
Please be patient. I know it can be stressful waiting, but the invites will come out in the next few weeks. I don't think it is a good idea to call and ask, as the office staff are very busy preparing for everything with interviews right now. Just know that you will find out sometime very soon. In an email to the ambassadors today, we were told that they will be going out soon. I do not know the exact timeline for how soon, but just hold tight for now!
I think about it so many times a day! I did not realize it would be on my mind so much! Thanks for sharing! I never knew my patience could be so tested.

No there’s notIs there a portal for kstate?
Does anyone think we’ll hear something this upcoming week🫣
Good morning! 😃 are interview invites sent out on a single day or do they get sent out in waves? Thank you for offering to answer questions!Hi everyone! I am a current 4th year at KSU. Feel free to ask me any questions, and I will hopefully see you all at interviews in January!
This is from the latest class.Does anyone know any statistics on how many applied, how many interviews are given out, and how many get accepted? Just curious!
Based on previous threads, it looks like they are all sent in one day (interview invites, interview alternates, rejections) and then if you get pulled off the alternate list you might hear after the fact.Good morning! 😃 are interview invites sent out on a single day or do they get sent out in waves? When did they send them out previously?Based on previous threads, it looks like they are all sent in one day (interview invites, interview alternates, rejections) and then if you get pulled off the alternate list you might hear after the fact.
Last year it was 11/17/2023, the year before it was 11/24/2022When did they send them out previously?
They sent out decisions on Thanksgiving two years ago?? Hopefully they won’t do that this year— that would be rough lolLast year it was 11/17/2023, the year before it was 11/24/2022
Yes they did. If you go back to the KSU c/o 2027 thread, you’ll see the high emotions that week haha. They sent out decisions on Thanksgiving two years ago?? Hopefully they won’t do that this year— that would be rough lol
I feel like that’s kinda the point of sending them out on a holiday. You presumably won’t be checking your email during the holiday so you would see it after the fact. That’s stressful! Who needs to spend quality holiday time with family when you could be in the corner, feverishly refreshing your email all day?
Do you know how long it was between that preference email and the interview decisions once they came out?Last year they did send the preference email first asking if you’d prefer in person or online interviews (I’ve always thought that was dumb bc then I was rejected a few days later so why do they need to know my preference if they know they’re not interviewing me lol)
Survey email sent the 9th and we had until Monday the 13th to complete it. Interviews / other decisions were then extended on the 17th. I was technically “interview waitlisted” but that’s the BULK of the outcomes so it’s essentially a soft rejection. Seems if they haven’t done any of this yet they’re either 1) extremely behind or 2) completely changing the processDo you know how long it was between that preference email and the interview decisions once they came out?
I remember having the choice of selecting either in-person or virtual! If I remember correctly, on the VMCAS KSU supplemental we were able to choose if we preferred an in-person or virtual interview. So it could be that they’re changing the process this year and doing away with the preference email?
