LECOM Bradenton Application Thread

So, I am wondering how many people are in each group of interview sessions/how many of them are accepted...hmm..especially the recent interviews, I am thinking the outcome will be similar to March 25

I don't know how many of us got accepted, but there are 2 interview sessions, morning and afternoon, and there are 20 students in each.

Not to be mean but you're not going to get rich as a pharmacist. Especially after 160K+ student loans from LECOM.

I went to an interview today. I went well. However, I have not taken Economics, but they still called me for an interview. I'm not sure what they will do about it. Will they accept me and make me take it in the summer?( I doubt it). Or reject my application? Any idea?

If the class is a requirement you must take it. You dont have to have all your classes finished before your interview. First, you must get accepted first and the offer is conditional upon satisfying all the requirements. They wont make you take anything, its up to you to make the decision.
 
Lecom and UF are two of my top choices. I heard that UF asks situational questions during their interviews, could you guys tell me what type of questions are asked in the Lecom interview?

i just went over the interview feedback for LECOM on SDN and i was more than prepared for every question they asked. have you heard more specifically the questions they ask at UF? i have my interview there in a few weeks and am a taddd nervous lol :scared:

oh ok, thanks i will definitely check that out.

I'm currently a Freshmen undergrad at UF, so i talked to a few current pharm students there, and they couldn't remember any exact questions, but told me to just google "situational questions". They said that UF doesnt really ask questions about your academic past (since they have it all on paper already), and instead wants to know more about you and how you handle different situations. I dont think they will ask too many questions though because those pharm students said their interviews were only 10-15 minutes long. Not sure if i was any help, but good luck though! 🙂

First of all, thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. However, I'm confused. You said I must take it because it's a requirement, but you also said that they won't make me take anything. I don't quite get it.

I got accepted without economics (conditional acceptance) and took it during the summer. You'll be fine as long as you pass economics with a at least a C during the summer.

Like I said in my comment, IF the class is a requirement you must take it. If offered a seat, it is conditional upon finishing the required classes. My point was, if you are going to attend the school you must take the class. If not, dont take it and the school will find a replacement. They won't make you take the class. Understand?
 
I haven't taken economics yet, either. I'm going to take it this summer.
 
does anyone know what the LECOM portal would say if you were denied a seat?
 
I just got the acceptance letter from LECOM. I'm so excited. However, are you guys absolutely sure about the Economics thing? The letter says that: You must complete all coursework and maintain at least 2.7 GPA by the Spring 2010. It makes me nervous. I emailed one of the committee members, but I've not got a response yet. I don't want that one class to jeopardize my future. Thanks in advance.

Congrats! Is this your first choice?

As for the economic requirement, if you have not taken the course, but they offered you a seat, then you still need to finish the required course by the time you enter pharmacy school. The deadline to take the require course is this summer. If you choose not to take the course this summer, then they will send you a letter saying you did not meet the requirement to enter the pharmacy school even if you already received the acceptance letter.

Thanks for your message. Yes, LECOM is my first choice. I felt in love with it at the interview; it's just so beautiful. About the Economics class, Should I contact the admission office to inform them about it? Are you also attending LECOM?

That's great! I'm like 90% I want to go to Lecom. Most likely I will though, so good chance we'll be classmates! 🙂

You should just contact them just in case. If you want, email Jackie, she responds back very quickly to emails!

Do you have Jackie's email? I couldn't find her email anywhere, not even a phone number. You also got your acceptance leter? I'm pretty sure that by the time we graduate from LECOM, we will all be brothers and sisters.

Hey guys I was there on March 25th as well and I live in Florida, but yet to receive a letter. My status says that They have made a decision and will mail an official letter. Haven't see it, do you that have just been accepted live in FL? 😕

Yeah, I live in Tampa. I got mine on Wednesday. You were there on the 25th? in the morning? we might have met.

Oh you were in the morning? I was in the afternoon on the 25th, I just received my ACCEPTANCE letter friday! yay, not sure why it took so long in the mail lol, I'll see everyone in august 😀 LECOM is my number one choice so I will decline my acceptance at PBA and cancel my interview at Nova

Congrats! Most likely, I'll see you on August. However, I have to reconsider my decision. Want to know why? Search for UF class of 2014 begins. or just look at my posts.
 
k, have no idea what you're talking about, but good luck on wherever you applied lol LECOM-Bradenton is my hometown so it's my #1 not to mention how strong their reputation is for med school so i'm stoked that they have a pharmacy school in bradenton!

Jacqueline e-mailed me on monday letting me know that I got an interview, but she said they are going to call me to set up a time. It's Wednesday night now and I still haven't recieved a call. Should I wait or should I call them? How many days did you guys have to wait?

You should be fine. Don't worry. I got my call on Tuesday at 4:30 when I was at work, so I wasn't able to pick up. I called back on Wednesday morning, and she told me that my interview would be on Thursday morning at 7:45. It's less than 48 hours. They probably will get back to you later. Good luck, and I'll see you in the Fall!
 
Since when did LECOM need ECN as a prereq? They called me yesterday to set up an interview (that's when they gave me a interview opportunity) and they said I needed to finish ECN (which I didn't know about) and they rejected my application on the spot when I told them I couldn't get that done by the end of Spring (yet again I told them I didn't know about the prereq and I didn't see it on their website)...That's some bull 🙁...You have no idea how angry I am at myself. GGGGRRRR!! :uhno::uhno::bang::bang::boom::boom:

I received my conditional acceptance letter today and plan on attending LECOM!! And the only thing I did to prepare for the interview was read through the interview feedback and I was prepared for every question! And to offer some advice, the interview itself was very nerve racking but at the end he asked if I had any questions for him. I asked him 3 or 4 and he became very conversational and friendly! So try to have a few questions ready to ask them because they really seem to enjoy answering all of your questions!

yeah email her at [email protected]... she told me that she mailed out my letter monday and i got accepted, i was in the april 22nd interview in the afternoon. good luck!!!

The requirements are clearly located on both their website and the PharmCAS website.

Chinese Bandit is correct. You must take the course. Contact Ms. Grosser and request special consideration to take it during summer session.
