LECOM Bradenton Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Guys, dont get me wrong, but i really wanted to know what kinda stats you have if u are in the alt list, so I can figure out my chance of getting in.

Thanks!!!

I have a Bachelors with a 3.3 for my undergrad. Upon return to school to do prereq's, I have a 3.7.

I didn't do so great on my PCAT with a 60 composite. This school was my first interview and I was really, really nervous.

I was put on the alternate list but I won't be attending regardless.

I wonder if everyone goes on the alternate list or if they actually deny anyone.

When I went for my interview which was Jan 6th Lauren, one of the admissions advisors, basically said that at this moment they really aren't rejecting people...the majority are either accepted or put on the alternate list...

Hi guys!
I got my acceptance letter today,I am so excited .If you have any questions about the interview Let my know.
Good luck and always keep hope!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All!

Jackie grosser is no longer their. I was at the interview recently. You may want to talk to laura somers or annete shively. Dont quote me on the spelling of their names 🙂. You can look them up on lecom website of courese 🙂

Hello! Does anyone know if you need write an essay during the actual interview of LECOM lake Erie? Thanks!:luck:

You dont have to write an essay if you meet both conditions:
1) They have your pcat score
2) They have your pcat ESSAY score

if you submitted both pcat scores to the school but they dont have it, than you will have to write an essay. Make sure they have both scores I dont know how its possible but I met people at the interview who submitted their pcats but lecom did not have some of their pcat scores on file. One girl I met asked lecom not to look at her pcat score. She had to write an essay at the interview

To Be Safe:

A) Call the school and ask them if they have all your pcat scores
B) Than Ask them if you have to write an essay at the interview
C) Tell them you have a bachelors degree if you do. Ask them if that waves the interview writing portion, I dont think it does

Congrats. Where are you from? I see your interview date for UCSOP on Saturday. I hope you like it. I do! I'm a third year there...it's really cool and the faculty/staff are amazing! We're doing big things. Good luck with the interview, it's very relaxed!

Interviewed on the 27th and I spoke with Lauren this morning...........I have been accepted as well 😀

Still waiting to hear back from Nova before I make a definite decision to attend Lecom.

Just thought I'd share with you the results of our last ACPE visit. This does not mean we were not accredited before, every school gets reevaluated every 2,4 or 6 years.
And congratulations to those who've been accepted to the C/O 2015!

RE: School of Pharmacy Accreditation

It is my great honor to announce that the LECOM School of Pharmacy has received a full six year (maximum possible) accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). I would like to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of the Self Study leadership team, Associate Dean for Faculty, Dr. Naushad Ghilzai and former Professor Heather Petrelli.
The ACPE is the national agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE was established in 1932 for the accreditation of pre-service education, and in 1975 its scope of activity was broadened to include accreditation of providers of continuing pharmacy education.
Regarding LECOM receiving the full six year accreditation designation, Jeffrey W. Wadelin, Ph.D., ACPE Associate Executive Director and Director stated, "I think you should all feel very good about this outcome . . . this is as good as it gets."

This feat could not have been accomplished without the dedicated collaborative efforts of the Erie and Bradenton School of Pharmacy's faculty, students and staff, as well as many members of the administration of LECOM. Not only does this effort reflect our shared commitment to excellence in pharmacy education, we can be proud of working together as 1LECOM/LECOM#1.

Anyone know approximately how many seats are left to fill the class starting this fall?

I am. I am coming from Dallas. What airport should I fly into??

Awesome, I'm from Frisco, just north of Dallas!

Anyways, congratulations to all our up and coming pharmacy students who are accepted. Also, good luck to those who are waitlisted. Anyone who is accepted and looking to live in the St. Petersburg area, I can definitely offer my advice with that.

Glad to hear there are Texas folks attending LECOM 🙂))
If you don't mind me asking, what made you choose LECOM??? Also, what is the average cost of living (rent+utilities) in St. Petersburg area? Thanks 🙂

I came here because I didn't get into my first choices in Texas (got the San Antonio school but figured for the same price may as well try out beach life).

St. Pete averages cheaper than Bradenton area, but not by much. The reason I came out here instead of Bradenton is I own two large dogs (german shepherds) and most apartments won't accept them coupled with the availability of cheap housing and the $8000 tax credit allowed me to buy a house.

So far it's worked out very well, but if you're planning on renting you'll probably do just as well in Bradenton because my drive is ~30-40 minutes one way through the toll bridge. I believe renting apartments you can find starting at ~500 and going up depending on how good you want.
