 Here u go Lumas... now u can edit your post 😀
My gosh, 2 months is WAAAY too long!
Also, I would say there are at least 4 other pretty girls that you all are not mentioning (names removed since I don't know if they post on this thread).
Yes, lots of hot gals, just to make me look bad! That's ok, one day when I'm a doctor I will be able to afford that plastic surgery, hell maybe I'll just go into plastics and have a partner do some work on me.
I received the same exact email DrMidlife... more waiting. So are they in the process of making an entire new list?
I'm telling you guys, this new list may bring some great hope yet! We still have 2 months to go and I'm sure there are many waiting to get in elsewhere who may have already sent in their deposits... although I don't know why. 😀
Ahem, I mean, who wants to go to LECOM-B? I hear all the new students there are snotty... and ugly. 👎
Somebody say something; the silence is deafening. that and I just feel like putting this thread back on top (where it belongs).
It's her selflessness, her self-deprecating and gentle humor, but most of all, her humility.
you are such a good judge of people in your old age![]()
kids these days...
I turn 34 in June...and I have high mileage.
I've had hip surgery...can anyone top that?
Tara Lipinski had that at age 18. And she has a gold medal so I think she wins.
I was born 2 months before the Beatles' last US performance. Before LBJ announced he wouldn't seek a 2nd term. Before the FDA allowed the pill to be prescribed to unmarried women.
Museum quality, really.
My dad marched in Kenndy's inarguragation
I've been hospitalized 4 times
hmmm....what else.........
I would say my joints are worse off, but marathon I would guess has me beat on that one
your dad may qualify for this contest, but I'm afraid you don't get credit for that. Nighty noodle kiddo![]()
Well you may be older, you may be faster, but I'm..............cuter😀
and probably look better in a bikini (or lets hope so)

If you're the Laura I saw on the Facebook page, I'll definitely say cuter. 😍
Ah...wow, only 13 posts in and I like you already, well done!

Oh man. Don't even get me started on feeling old! I'm only 25 but after being free from school for a year and a half I really was starting to appreciate those no-brainer days if you know what I mean. I don't know how I'm going to make myself sit down and study anatomy 10 hours a day! I have trouble concentrating on reading a book I want to read for more than an hour, and I LOVE to read. Sometimes I feel I should be eligible for senior citizen discounts (and with Florida housing prices, wouldn't that be nice! At least getting old gets us that. Those 55+ers get all the breaks!) I told my fiance he has to work an opposite shift from my school schedule so he doesn't distract me from my studies. Haha! And the best thing is that my memory is going. I don't know how I got through Undergrad... I cooked bacon for three hours last week, but on the bright side I do like it extra crispy.I think we'll definitely have to designate a place for a study group a couple nights a week, because I'm going to need all the motivation I can get!
Yep. That's the party I was trying to plan. I actually gave up on "planning" it because nobody really seemed all that excited for the plan. I was going to make a Facebook event and invite everyone to it sometime in July. We're gonna use Kate's idea of BYOB. You all can go whenever you'd like, but I'm probably going to make the event for the afternoon of July 23 or thereabouts. Any objections?
Yeah, we are going to have to have a "Class of 2012 Beach Day" once everyone gets moved down to B-town. I went to Siesta Key over Memorial Day weekend (about 15-20 minutes from school), and I'm telling you...it just doesn't get much better than that. Beautiful beach & amazing water.😍

I just came back from Bradenton, what an amazing town! Beautiful beaches, soft white sand that's like salt (literally), even Hawaii has rougher sands! I got a place to live (SunChase Apts). I know it's about a 30 min drive, but my boyfriend also works in Bradenton and we want to be close to everything. Plus, SunChase just gives us a really good deal. For the two of us with a two bedroom apartments, all the other ones the students suggested are just too expensive! Anyway, some reviews (my own opinion):
Carlton Arms - beautiful outdoors, HUGE complex (you will get lost in there, it's like 600 apartments all together), nice view of the lake (especially from the pool), downside: everything inside is old, and not updated; kinda pricey for what they offer (the apt the lady showed us smelled like cat pee); don't allow dogs over 30lbs (?, can't remember).
Springs at Braden River - Nice complex with condo style apartments, new amenities like workout facilities, pool, etc, everything inside is new (the place is only 6 yrs old), downside: expensive for a 1BR or 2BR, some of the floorplans have weird shaped bedrooms that are not exactly squary, so you can't fit a big bed in it (we have king), it's gated, but people from next door Woodbury, which is a subsidized apartment can roam around within the "gated" area since they share a tennis court and running track. Here's how I look at it, it's a probability thing, anywhere you live, it's gonna have problems with drama people calling the cops once in a blue moon, but if you live close to ghetto people, that probability gets higher. That's all. But I was very impressed with Springs at Braden River for what they are offering. Right now it's $100 off rent.
I did not look at Colonial Grand at Lakewood Ranch and Heritage Harbor (which both are expensive in the 2BR range) because they do not allow my dog in there (she is part rottweiler, which is a restricted breed). Most apartments restrict dog breeds because of insurance reasons, the breeds are: rottweilers, pit bulls, dobermans, chow chows, and saint bernards (that's a surprise for me). Also most of them have a weight restriction also, generally around 30-40lbs. My old pug would be just fine there! 😉 But I don't have her anymore.
I would prefer to live closer, but for my happy fat doggie and my boyfriend, I can live farther. Plus, I'm 1 minute from Blake medical center, which is one of the rotation sites anyway right? Once you start doing rotations in 3rd year, I wouldn't think living close to school matters that much anymore anyway. Either way, wherever you live in Bradenton, the place is the size of a palm anyway. I am already getting used to driving on 64 and 301 from and to the school (drove around a lot when I was there).
Anyway, regarding apartment hunting, don't be afraid to negotiate with them. Right now EVERYBODY is doing specials, which means they are desperate for tenants. We negotiated $10/month cheaper for my boyfriend's jetski storage. Just tell them: "Well, this other place gave me this much, but I'd rather live here, so can you match them? I will sign the lease today!"
Good luck everybody!
Oh regarding the party, I am moving down on July 19th, so the first few days of the week, partying is not a good option. I know 23rd - 25th we go into school, but what about 25th, Friday night? Nobody should be doing anything then, or the next day! We can make it at around 3-4pm, and the party goes until whenever! I went to this good restaurant called SandBar on Anna Maria island that's right on the beach, and I saw people standing around the restaurant on the sand drinking and no one said anything about public intoxication (people were pretty chill down there!) We can do it around there so if we cannot party on the beach, we will just move right over to the restaurant deck! I'd personally like to see who's the biggest partier out of our class! Haha...😛
