Less of a “flagship” and more of a “tug boat”

So, my undergraduate institution is a state school but not a “flagship” school...it is more like a “tugboat“ in that no one would recognize the school outside of the neighboring states. Within the school it is known for the massive grade deflation (particularly the chemistry department) and I have maintained 4.0 in those classes.

With otherwise good stats/ECs etc. will the undergrad school really matter?

The undergraduate school, unless it's Harvard (and then it only marginally matters), does not matter.

Hyperbole, but you could go to a community college and they wouldn't care.

It always matters, but generally not as much as anything else. A strong gpa and killer MCAT will get you far out of any school
