i understand lots of school specify that they like professors to write letters, however, what if your class instructor (the one who hands you the grades) does not actually hold the title of a professor, would that affect your letter's credibility?
The highest level faculty member who knows you well enough to write a strong supportive letter about your academic abilities and personal qualities is the one you want to pick. A professor or PhD is great to have, but not always the best choice to support your application.
