What's your timeline as far as when you want to submit your application for spring? How long are you going to wait to potentially hear (or not) from LMU before starting fall applications for other schools?

Working on my LMU app now, Im a second time applicant but I didnt apply to LMU last year. I'm shooting for Spring 2026, but open to fall or even the new opcvm as that would be instate for me. Im filling out their supplements now and there are the simple questions such as:
What are your plans following the completion of your DVM degree?
and
Where do you intend to practice veterinary medicine?

How should I approach these? I want to be specific and say my goal is food animal/ public health but as someone not in veterinary school I do not know if I should be specific to what area I want to practice in. Thoughts?

I was just honest and said that I was looking to practice in shelter med and was hoping to find somewhere with good mentorship. Not really sure if this is the best policy, as this is my first cycle applying. Also, the character limit is pretty short, so whatever you're going to say has to be pretty succinct.

From digging through past SDN threads, it looks like there is a small set of people who interview at the end of July and then potentially get offers in August. The next set appears to get acceptances at the end of October. From there on, they seem to keep trying to fill the class all the way up to the start date.

One of my biggest dilemmas with this spring semester application is trying to make decisions about going to LMU vs waiting it out (if I'm offered a seat). It's a lot to pack up everything and move across the country in a month if that's when you get your offer. And then I will have spent the time and money to apply to several other schools. It's driving me a little bonkers trying to figure out how to handle it.

There's not an essay. There are a couple of questions, but the answers are limited to like 250 characters or something which amounts to about two sentences.

Based on last cycle, they start pulling applicants for interviews at the end of July, and they continue interviewing each month until the seats fill up.

What are you guys doing as far as filling out other applications? Are you waiting to fill them out and crossing your fingers that you'll be part of the July interviews?
