literacy volunteering - worth it?

Anyone do any volunteering teaching adults how to read and write? I know I'd probably be significantly younger than those I potentially tutor.

The "worth" depends on what you're after. I did some literacy tutoring with kids when I was in college because I liked helping kids improve their reading. If you're interested in helping adults learn to read, then I think it would be "worth it."
