Has anyone looked into housing options for if you choose LIU? I heard commuting was pretty lengthy from Brooklyn/Queens since the metro doesn't take you all the way out to Greenvale, but I haven't seen any affordable apartments near the school itself

I have a friend who goes to the school and her and a couple other classmates rent a house together.

You need a car. If you dont have one ull have to live on campus. Otherwise ur looking at relying on a bus route with limited time. One girl in the class ik takes a bus but she has to arrive early and stay all day. Otherwise there's a lot of locations around to rent . Its expensive but its ny so 🤷‍♀️ still cheaper to rent then live on campus .

I wouldnt live in NYC. You're better off in long island. Suffolk County is a bit cheaper generally than nassau where the school is. It really depends on your personal feelings. Theres "cheaper" areas but less safe etc.

I know someone who goes to LIU. She lived in the dorms her first year and said she would not recommend. Although I forget the location she lives in, it's her and a roommate who got a place together for their 2nd year. They first tried to get something cheap and it ended up falling through like a day before her classes start due to the guy renting out the apartments was almost like a scam ripping them off. I think they were able to find something and live on the lower level in someone's house. Living there is very expensive, from what she told me.

any idea when we’ll hear back? they said at the end of the interview around mid-feb for all candidates but I know last year acceptances went out about a week and a half after interviews, did anyone hear anything different?

Like a week and a half after the last interview?

from looking at the thread last year ppl who interviewed first round early jan heard back about acceptances around mid-jan!
I’m not sure exactly when they sent them out because I was in the last interview group, but they did send enough offers after the first round of interviews to fill the class so essentially anything after that was for a waitlist position

Does anyone know if we need to send in our fall 2021 transcripts? I've had to do it for like 5 of the schools i'm applying to and was unsure if they asked for that or not...

I was told from admissions that you only send them in if they as you to since I also asked them the same question.

I'm curious how many of you guys are from long island /or ny? This year's class is full of "locals"

My fav thing about weekends is not expecting any emails and now Monday is tomorrow I’m gonna be checking my email for anything like a fiend especially since I was reading on the forum and it last year LIU sent acceptances a couple weeks after interviews oof😭😂

Are we expecting to hear about more interview invites today? What time was the last big wave of interviews?

I’m not sure when they’d do more interview invites. From what I saw I’d say afternoon to early evening if they were doing more interview invites.

Great job! It’s good to have it done.
I hope it’s sooner tho😭 lol
I knowwww hopefully that just means waitlist and we’ll hear about acceptances sooner. She also mentioned she’ll let you know what “bracket” you’re in on the waitlist when the time comes.

Oooo that’s nice to know. I don’t think she said or remember if she did about the waitlist bracket.

Are any of you that had an interview emailing a thank you to your interviewers?

Searched that email address in my inboxes but still nothing. I emailed them so I guess we will see what they say. Thank you for your help!
did they ever get back to you? i haven't heard anything from them since sending in my application and was also debating sending them an email

Did they not do waitlist brackets last year?
Nope. We were told they couldn’t tell us anything. The only thing some people got told is they were in a good position to get an offer and then some still never did
