So is the last day we can hear back about interview invites November 7th? Or is that just for spring cohort? Or do we not know? Lol

I think we don’t know. It’s probably going to depend on how the scheduled interviews go & how many people reserve their seats for either cohort. I am assuming most of the veterinary applicants each cycle apply for more than one school. Many apply to their IS school too. There’s usually a better chance that someone will get in and commit to their seat at their IS school. However, a lot of schools haven’t even notified people of interviews yet, and acceptances may not go out until next spring for many schools . If you only applied to LMU let’s say and you get an interview and acceptance from LMU next week. You may have the money and want to reserve you seat asap for the fall.. or you may wait to the very last minute for various reasons. LMU does not know if they will have extra seats until applicants let them know. Theoretically, the first 125 accepted for the fall cohort, could all decide on another school and the spots would be offered to the next group of people. I like to refer to getting accepted to vet schools as a “game”. None of us really know how we are going to compare to other applicants and the schools don’t really know how many applicants will apply to their program each year. There has been a nation wide increase of applicants. Many schools are seeing increases in cGPA and gpas in general. Schools are seeing their average cGPA jump a lot and thus applicants that may be extremely qualified get denied early on. I do think there’s a good possibility that there will be more interview invites for LMU, but that all depends on many factors. I know personally I don’t think I will be able to make a decision on where I will go to school ( if accepted at all and if more than one school accepts me) closer to that April 15 deadline. This is a BIG decision for us all. So many factors come into play, and it’s hard to plan everything perfectly. We have all worked really hard, and that work is far from over. The best advice I would give anyone is to keep doing things to make yourself the best applicant and best future vet student you can. If you don’t get accepted, schedule an application review. I scheduled one with all of the schools I applied to this year. It was very helpful.

That makes sense, I'm trying not to get discouraged about not hearing back yet and that helps to hear. Thank you!!

Hey yall, how concerned should I be if I still haven't gotten an interview invite? I know they're still continuing to offer interviews into November but I feel like a good majority have already happened.

Hey guys, i interviewed in october with LMU! Don’t be scared, this has been my favorite interview so far. I thought 2 minutes was plenty time to read the scenario and write down my thoughts. Also a little tip, the interviewers are going to turn off their cameras while you look at the scenario, don’t be afraid to flip yours off to so you feel comfortable! I also thought 6 minutes would be too long to answer because i suck at long responses but the type of questions made it easy to talk through. If you have time, ask questions!!! I will say it was a little scary when you first log on because you enter the zoom chat and are sitting in the call with like 20 interviewers and a few staff members waiting to be moved so be warned that might happen to you😂 If you have questions, ask away!
This makes me feel so much better! I know you aren’t allowed to talk about the questions you were given, but do you think prepping by using example MMI questions helped? I can’t find any related to vet med so that makes me nervous

definitely prep to make sure you’re comfortable talking for extended periods. I looked up Vet school MMI questions and a website that had flash cards popped up that had some vet med related ones. Just remember you’re not a doctor yet so don’t be too worried about the vet med ones, they understand our education is minimal!

For those of you who went to the tour, how was it!? Unfortunately I was unable to make the November dates… but I’d love to hear about your experiences
it was great! Super informative and their equipment is state of the art. VERY nice stuff. We got to talk to the dean, professors, and students of all years. Most applicants were super quiet which is understandable we were all nervous. Their facilities were awesome tho. I was blown away that all of their anesthesia things comes from the ceiling and we don’t have to roll around a cart everywhere😂 They also talked about how closely we work with the techs and everyone was super friendly and approachable.

Has anyone who already received an acceptance accepted their seat for the January class?

What did you guys all think of the academic culture and the area in general?

Oos acceptance, waiting to hear back from IS before matriculation, received acceptance on Wednesday. I wrote not interested in January but was given the option for Spring and Fall.
Congrats! When did you interview?

Congratulations! So they actually sent more acceptances on Wednesday.

So they've sent some acceptances already? Does anyone know their process? I put ineligible and not interested by extent for Spring as I'm still completing pre reqs but now I'm nervous since I interviewed early.

Also, does anyone know what order they review in? I interviewed 10/17 and have received nothing weirdly.

Now I'm getting nervous since I haven't heard back yet after interviewing 🙁
don’t worry, they definitely could be only reviewing those that are eligible for spring. We aren’t given any information but i’d assume that’s what they are doing since it’s starting so soon. If you aren’t eligible it will probably be a while before you hear because they want to focus on spring. Don’t stress!

Based off of my observations, a lot of people that interviewed this time of year last year didn’t hear back so soon. They are likely only accepting people sooner if they said they would be interested in the Spring cohort. If you checked not interested in the Spring cohort, I wouldn’t be too concerned about not receiving an acceptance right now. Even if you did there is still plenty of time to be accepted before the Spring and Fall start. The fall class might be “filling” sooner but also keep in mind that the people who chose fall are still waiting to hear back from other schools, so their spot may open up.

I understand that a sooner acceptance would be nice, but sometimes you gotta just wait it out. If you aren’t waitlisted or rejected you are still being considered, and even if you are waitlisted you could come off. I received my acceptance about 5 months after my interview. Even if you haven’t gotten an interview, I know last year they interviewed through late February/March. It is rare for schools to accept people this early (LMU sped up their process because of the spring cohort), so don’t feel discouraged.

Try not to stress too much guys! I know that this is much easier said than done, but it seems like they're only reviewing those who have said that they're eligible for spring regardless of whether or not they're actually interested and they're going in chronological order (so it seems like last week they only got to around the 10/24 interviews). Hopefully we hear more this week!

I interviewed 10/24 and haven’t heard anything 🙂 I’m eligible and said not interested in starting in the spring. I wonder if they will release more this week?

I am thinking (and really hoping) they will release more acceptances tomorrow! 🤞 good luck everyone, we are all going to be excellent veterinarians one day 🫶
anxiously waiting 😭😭 I wish they would give dates to when they’re sending out acceptances. Like is it random?? Every tuesday? Every mon&wed? I just need some time frame or to know it’s random😂😂

I was kinda figuring they are going to wait to send more until after they finish up interviews in the next couple weeks, so they can evaluate all of the applicants left for fall cohort. Who knows.. maybe they filled Spring up! ?

Hard to say. There are several working parts involved in the process. While LMU tends to not have designated communication timelines, it is now even harder to say because the approval of the spring cohort makes all of this newly uncharted timelines.

Most of the notices will pend all the moving parts but as MMLJT3 said, I think more acceptances won't go out until they conclude spring eligible interviews, which will be this week.

Once spring is filled, fall only offers should begin going out. Best educated guess is sometime in the new year, but wholly depends on how fast the spring cohort fills.

I doubt that they filled up spring! Tbh, I feel like fall is probably filling up more as of right now because those accepted so far have chose not to join spring! They did say they were aiming to have everyone eligible for the spring evaluated by November 7th! Just hoping it’s soon! The waiting process is the worst part of this entire experience lol

just finished my interview!! Was nervous on the first one with the guy but felt okay with the last 2 😭 idk. Just glad its over
I was nervous on my first one as well. There was a language barrier as well as having to talk over technology made it extra difficult. Glad it’s over for you!! Now the waiting game😭

I wonder if they’re going to pull those from the waitlist from last cycle that didn’t get in anywhere else and offer them a seat in spring. That would be super cool for them but super uncool for this cycles applicants 😂 Either way i’m glad there’s more opportunities for everyone now with spring cohort.

I think they mentioned in the Q&A that they did offer some spring seats to those on the waitlist from the previous cycle! But they could have also gotten in somewhere else and can say no.
They also said most of the spring seats would be offered to the current applicants though, who are eligible.

Yes! They did say they offered a select amount of seats to people on the waitlist from last cycle. They said the majority of the class would consist of people from this application cycle though!

It was sent to everyone that interviewed today! Just a brief thank you and re addressed the campus visit day and time line (sort of) of when decisions would be released. 🙂
i did not interview today, i interviewed in october and still received it.
I interviewed in october too... and have gotten every other email 🙁 now im confusedddd ugh thats so strange

For the interview, should prep be focused on broad scenarios and answering them or reflecting on personal experiences? I know you can't talk about questions asked during the interview. Just looking to be pointed in the right direction for prepping

I think more broad scenarios relating to vet med!! Nothing really personal unless you can relate it to the scenario somehow!
