LMU c/o 2027 Applicants

For those of you that go accepted last Tuesday and Wednesday, what time was the email sent? I'm just curious if they are sending acceptances at the same time just on different days.

Are they going to still be offering interviews for the fall cohort? Or are they kinda done since they're offering acceptances

Considering all the moving parts and the fast scramble from finding out so soon, I would say invites/acceptances/etc go out as they go out and not on a set rotation.

They are offering acceptances because of the approval for a spring cohort, which has quickened their timeline. Pending how things shake out, it is hard to say if they will have more interviews beyond what is currently scheduled.

Hi friends! For those of you that have been accepted and plan on joining the Spring cohort, we have a Facebook group for you all! Just look up LMU CVM Class of 2027 (Silver Cohort)
The group has current students, faculty, and accepted students that are starting in January!

I can’t wait to meet you all!

Do we know how many people have accepted January?

Im kinda surprised no more acceptance went out yet. I figure they would have sent out some for the people who interviewed on Oct 26th and 31st, since it looked like they stopped at the 24th the last time.

Same here, it really does look like they haven't looked at those two dates yet. Their last email also made it seem like there might be some time before the next set of acceptances go out though. Maybe they're taking a break since everything's been so fast-paced or maybe they ran into some complications?

I was wondering too if they ran into complications. I feel for the admissions team, I know they are working hard.

I just had my interview this morning (which was the last interview date available) so i’m sure more acceptances will be coming out this week or the next
How did it go? Mine is later today!

Great! It’s very fast paced, one interview right after the other. I liked 2/3 of my interviewers. I had a notebook that i scribbled points i wanted to talk about as i read through each prompt that i thought helped a lot! Heads up, 2 interviewers didn’t turn off their camera as i read through the prompt so don’t let that throw you off!

So glad your interview went well! Thank you that!

As someone who is eligible and interested for spring, I figured we would have already heard by now🙁 everyday that goes by it’s going to be harder for those who want to go in January to pack up and go. Hoping we hear this week 🤷‍♀️

Exactly because they were stressing giving y'all enough time to get packed up to come so that's why I'm shocked they didn't send more yesterday.

Wait, so was today the last day they're having interviews then?

To be honest, I almost wonder if they've run into the issue that they now have too much interest in the fall class (like at this point, they would've expected to have more people in the spring class and fewer in the fall). Their email said that everyone would be given the option between fall and spring but I was thinking that at some point, they're probably going to have to start offering only spring to those who are eligible for spring but not invited into the fall cohort. I don't know, just my thoughts! I do appreciate all of the hard work that they're putting in though, I know that it must be super difficult.

This was what I was wondering. I was being nosy (avoiding my studying I need to do) and looked up the sliver cohort Facebook group and there's like 20 something members right now which isn't super informative but interesting. I'm sending good vibes to the admissions team because I'm stressed out about knowing, I can only imagine how stressed they are.

I think they have just wanted to wait until they interviewed the people they offered interviews to before making any more decisions. I wonder if they will start offering spring acceptances to fill the cohort, and put people on a fall waitlist.

Realistically LMU should have announced their ability to have a spring cohort and offered it starting in 2024. LMU doesn’t have the best administration

I was totally thinking this. Any speculation on what they are going to do for Spring 2024?

So they received the ok to start a Spring cohort literally the Friday before they officially announced it (which on campus they announced it Monday Morning) and was told to start this coming spring. They had no choice. The Dean was prepared for next Spring. And so with the news, the admissions was expedited.

I’m sure that’s probably correct. I just have a hard time wanting to believe the AVMA accreditation committee was thinking that through like at that point don’t give LMU spring cohort access.

So if we haven’t heard anything yet are we out of luck?

Can you post a link to FB group LMU CVM Class of 2027 (Silver Cohort), I cannot find it. Thank you.

Does anyone else feel like they’re not going to be able to fill the spring cohort? I’m eligible and very interested, interviewed on 10/24 and haven't heard anything. At this point if I am accepted and given the choice between spring and fall, I think I’d honestly choose fall so I have more than 1.5 months to find housing and pick up my entire life 😅

Let me know if this link doesn’t work!

Similar situation here. Did you go on the tour? I understand going to the tour if you have an acceptance but it's costly both monetarily and timewise. Hard to say - hey I am going to visit when you know that others have been accepted but not you. I thought that if they came out with another round of acceptances early this week it would give time to arrange for the Friday tour but nothing else came out this week.
I did not tour and I am not going on this weekend’s either because they didn’t send it out in time for me to request off work 😅 I’m just really surprised that nothing else has come out when I’m sure they’re aware that peoples interest is waning the more time goes by

LMU is notorious for not sending a ton of communications during the interview process. So if you haven't heard from them yet don't panic! They are also focusing on the spring cohort so there is still fall to fill up as well. You can set up tours throughout the year for those who were unable to come to the fall LMU expereince days. I believe they hold a similar thing in the spring as well.

I was interviewed 10/26 and I’m in the same situation. I think it will be almost impossible for people to pack up everything and make arrangements in such a short notice. I thought we would’ve had a decision back by 11/7. Also makes me nervous because the later they wait, the more people will choose the fall cohort and it will fill super quickly.

Also the fact that most people applied to multiple schools and will not have decisions by the time spring semester starts. I applied to 9 other schools this cycle and likely won’t even have interviews by January. So by accepting a spring seat I’d be essentially throwing out 9 other applications and the thousands of dollars that those cost… I just think the spring cohort wasn’t thought through very well before it was announced

Yay very happy with the info they just sent! Definitely how it should have happened from the start
I hate the fact that they’ve taken away the choice. If you’re good enough to be accepted for spring then they shouldn’t have to reevaluate you for fall. An acceptance is an acceptance regardless of cohort and they shouldn’t “take it back” just because you decide on a different cohort. Especially since it’s such short notice and you could get accepted literally a week before. I don’t feel like that’s fair to oos people or ones waiting to hear from IS. I get their first priority is spring, but it just sucks that if you decline spring then you’re back in to be looked at again.

I mean these decisions by LMU are why they are ranked lower in my choices for schools. I don’t want to throw hundreds of thousands of dollars at a school where the administration is struggling to get their admissions together

I agree with you. I don't think it was fair for them to give an option to some students at first and then take it away from the rest. It is not fair to do mid cycle.

Honestly I was giddy from my interview and moved them up, but I agree the lack of direction is disheartening and now I’m hoping for more defined answers elsewhere. I don’t think spring acceptance should be fully reconsidered for fall, they should have a leg up. Oh well!

agreed. I feel like there should’ve been a completely different application for spring cohort so people that only want fall could’ve been prioritized with rolling admissions and spring could’ve had their own admissions process. Like you can apply for spring, if you’re accepted then that’s that you’re obligated to spring, if not then you can have the choice to be evaluated for the fall. I feel like that would’ve been easier than doing a survey that garunteed the decision made for us didn’t bind us to either cohort. Accepting people for spring and them declining and then rejecting them for fall isn’t going to give LMU a good rep.

as someone who interviewed yesterday and felt like it went well, this is disappointing

Can you imagine “Actually I was accepted to the Spring cohort but I couldnt move that quickly and declined and then I was denied admission for the fall” that’s gonna be a good story to tell the kids.

Ugh. I understand why they’re doing it but now I feel pressured to accept a spring seat (if accepted) for fear of “losing” the seat if not accepted again for the fall cohort 😕
my exact thoughts. I don’t want to attend spring but i am eligible. If they accept me for spring i will be so torn and would only accept out of fear that my IS would reject me and i wouldn’t get accepted for fall. The fact that so many people were already given the choice and now they’re taking it away looks so terrible on them.
