I'm just hoping I made the right decision... I had a great experience at Maryland (interview and the additional visit I made), and if Dr. Meehan is representative of what the other faculty at UMB are like, I was very impressed. If out-of-state expenses weren't so much and it wasn't in Baltimore, I think it would've been an automatic decision for me.

Ah man I thought you might come to Maryland... Oh well, thanks for all your help along the way, its crazy I remember when you finished your DAT and every step along the process, its been fun.
(btw as a ravens fan I must say I likes your old avatar much better- lol)

I also was very impressed with Dr. Meehan. I spoke with her on several occasions and she was always very sincere with her responses and overall I get the feeling that she has genuine concern for her Maryland students. Prior to my interview at Maryland I had only seen the Ohio State dental school were I attend undergrad and, while I was rejected there, the facilities and technology at OSU are no comparison to those at Maryland(but neither is the in-state tuition I could have had at OSU lol).

I am sure that you will be very happy with your choice though.

Haha that all seems like so long ago... damn, time is flying by these days! I'm glad I was able to help, and I'm glad that everything worked out of you...

It's all about the black & gold baby 😀... still can't believe they won the SuperBowl. That's secretly the main reason I decided not to go to UMB... I'd probably get mugged and beaten if I wore my Steelers gear around Baltimore 😉.

You can't spell C _ C K _ _ C K E R without " O S U"

i was so tempted to get it then and i wish i had...

I was also accepted yesterday, and couldn't be happier! I received the WL-1 email and I'm a out-of-state resident. It's a great school, and more importantly, I feel like I'll fit in very well there. I fully intend on going. Good luck to everyone else, keep your heads up and your mind strait.
 
Accepted off the waitlist on 03/30. Got a call in the afternoon from Dr. Meehan. I will definitely be attending (so a BU seat will soon become available).
 
Got a call at work from Dr. Meehan yesterday!! We had a long chat actually. There are still seats left!

Oi, at least you GOT waitlisted. They haven't told me anything since my interview in January and when I called to ask if there was still a chance that I might even make the waitlist they told me that nobody had gotten off the waitlist, even though people on SDN have.
 
Seems like most who are getting called are from the WL-1 category

congrats on getting in... im also hoping for an acceptance to UMD, but im still waiting and dont want to give up on the school thats already accepted me. 🙁 what did dr. meehan say about the seats left? i hate this waiting...👎

which school accepted you? i may give up my spot at UMD for Tufts...
 
I am also looking for a spot at maryland, although I have been accepted somewhere else... what did Dr. Meehan say about the spots that are open.. I still haven't even been put on the wait list, my status still says invited for interview.

Same here, my AADSAS still just says "invited for interview" and they won't answer questions about what it means to not even be on the wait list at this point. My first hunch was it's not good to not be on the waitlist if people are being taken off the wait list already, but predents shows a lot of people having been rejected; I would have thought they would have rejected me if I'm not good enough for the waitlist.

In summary: 👎 +😕

I was going to up until about a week ago; I have a lot of family down there and it would have been nice to get in and then stay in Maryland afterwards. I've started apartment hunting in Boston though, so it'd be a really tough call if they let me in now.

Ya I agree. I have been looking for apartments and roommates and I really like the other both schools, but so far UMD hasn't said anything to me so I have to assume I'm not getting in there. aw well
 
Supraman - so have you decided between UMD and Tufts?
 
Boston isn't too far from me and it's a much nicer city than BALTIMORE. I don't save much at all so the choice is clear for me
 
I'm actually looking forward to living in Baltimore. The inner harbor area is nice, and actually affordable (at least compared to Hawaii where I'm coming from). I'm going apartment hunting this weekend, if anyone is interested in sharing a place, it looks as if we could both pay like $700-$800/mo including utilities and live in a sick building. Send me a PM.


Oh, and did anyone get their check cashed yet (for the people who had the April 15th due date)?
 
I am glad to see so many of you guys getting in... but as for me, I also haven't heard a single word since my interview back in what feels to be the stone age lol.... I don't know if this is good or bad. the wait definitely sucks👎 worse than rejection if you are asking me... but it also seems that this year they are accepting tons of out state people .. ... anyone got into FL? I spoke to them and they basically said look we have no space for outstates this year
who knows !!!
