@TheThirdLevel That is not a good thing! I don't want psych to become too competitive...
I wouldn't get too worried. While some people may be more inclined I get the impression that it takes a certain type of person to really enjoy doing psych.

Princeton has no med school.
Once they do, I'm going back for my second M.D.Princeton has no med school.
I'm confused. What is that list exactly? Why are there so many people's names on that list?If anyone was curious as to how IMG did this year, here is SGU's list. http://postgrad.sgu.edu/ResidencyAppointmentDirectory.aspx?year=2015
Gotta say, Penn's list is really the only school's match list where I'm consistently blown away.

Dumb question: is a Preliminary without a follow-up spot pretty much always code for "didn't match"?
Was looking at UC's match list and they list radiology diagnostic and radiology therapeutic, is the therapeutic a straight interventional radiology residency or is it radiation oncology?
EDIT: Here is the link to University of Cincinnati's match list in question: https://comdo-wcnlb.uc.edu/emos/studentservices/matchstats.aspx
On non-anonymized lists from the school (i.e. sorted by person and not by match), they will usually list the prelim and the advanced spot under the same name. If you only see a prelim spot under a name that is code for didn't match.

??? 438 spotsI thought there's only 22 spots total for derm? How come I've counted more than 22 spots matched by the Match lists posted here?
Oh I see. So all the match lists are including the PGY-2 spots? There are only 9 dermatology programs, with 22 slots, that start in PGY-1
The overwhelming majority of dermatology programs start in PGY-2 and require a prelim or TY first
For such a great medical school, that is a struggle puggle match list.

have you seen the tuition at BCM? no ****ing wonder.
??
Baylor is one of the cheapest med schools out there, even for OOS students.
my bad, thought you were referring to boston college medical school.
For all the pre-meds looking through this thread, remember that match lists only give you limited information. Sure, some can be pretty ridiculous (wtf Penn?!), but as someone who just went through the match process, there's a lot more that goes into someone's personal rank list choices than what you can see on a list. You also can't see the actual people behind the program names, and knowing many of those super-strong matches personally from the interview trail, I can tell you they are incredibly gifted, hard working, brilliant, and personable people who have done mind-blowing things with their time in medical school. While name definitely matters, I think these people would have matched just as well coming from almost anywhere.
This match list thread disclaimer gets posted every year, and apparently this year was my turn. 🙂
Personally, I would group match lists into 2 categories:
1) The skim it and think "holy s--t that's unbelievable" lists
2) The rest
