No word here either, when will we know!!!!! This is so annoying, does anyone else have their future riding on this decision. This is the only school I have a shot at getting accepted, because I did not apply early to schools because of the Aug MCAT. I have no idea what I will do next year if I dont get in. Of course I will reapply if I dont get in, but have no ideas for the one year wait. But hopefully I get in. I hope we all get good news soon.

this is getting ridiculous. MCG & Mercer must be the very last schools to send their letters.

.

sail, same situation here. I keep being reminded that we have so little control over this process. And yet it is agony from waiting 2 months for mcat scores to months waiting for an interview decision. When did everybody interview?

I had an interview in early december, it was so long ago I barely even remember how I felt walking out of it.

I didn't look at the postmark on the envelope and don't have it with me right now. Kinda wanted to forget about it afterwards but I'll check when I get home and let you all know. Better luck to all of you!

Didn't hear anything today, did anyone else get anything?

nothing again.

Still no news. Has anyone been in contact with the admissions office? Can we only expect rejection or waitlists from here on out? This is driving me crazy!

I am trying to reason this out, why would they wait so long to send waitlist letters? Why not just send them out at the same time they send out the final batch of acceptance letters? From what I understand, the comitte stopped meeting yesterday Mar. 31. So I guess the last batch of acceptances would go out today, so maybee we will hear within 2 or 3 mail days.

Did you hear that the committee stopped meeting on 3/31 from a representative at MCG?

That is what Mrs. DeVaughn sent to me in an email a while ago, so I guess it is still correct. Also, dont they have to notify the AAMC of their quota of acceptances by Mar. 31?

It is interesting that no one has gotten a reply. hopefully, that means there are some acceptances

no word here either....I did speak to someone in the admissions office who said that once the committee has made a decision - they will send out a letter 1 week later. So I am guessing that our replies will be sent out this coming Thursday.

Did they say if they would mail waitlist letters at the same time?

SORRY TO HEAR IT 🙁

nothing again. Maybe one of these days I'll hear something.

Why Is MCG doing this to the faithfulls. If i have to contact the school for one last time, there will be repercautions.

STILL nothing

I finally broke down and called the admissions office today and as expected they weren't very forthcoming with any info. Mrs. DeVaughn wasn't in so I just spoke with the office secretary who said everyone should hear something by the second week of April and that they couldn't give application status over the phone. This is all of the info I could pull out of the lady. Hopefully we all will hear something by the end of the week.

nothing here,
What is everyone's mood, I am optomistic that they will be sending out a lot of acceptances soon, because no one I know has heard. What does everyone else think?

Saildawg,

I have the same optimism as you, but I just don't know what to think. I felt like I had a really good interview, but I thought that if they were going to let us know they would have done so already, even though I have not heard of anyone getting acceptances other than edp.

word.

I hear that applications are up very significantly from last year. I am waiting for the waitlist followed by a rejection.

I talked to Mrs. DeVaughn today, and she said that tehy were hopefully going to mail out all letters by the end of the week. So I guess we will just keep waiting untill then.

I talked to someone last weekend whose friend received an acceptance a couple weeks ago. So maybe they have sent out acceptances and we are all waitlisted? Who knows.

Yikes, there goes my confidence. Also I was reading some of the old MCG posts from 2002 and it seems that people that get letters this late are waitlisted. I am still hoping that maybee there are some acceptances in the outgoing batch. Hope we all hear good news soon, I am so tired of waiting.

I spoke with Linda DeVaughn this morning. According to her, the last group of letters were sent out yesterday, 4/7. Of, course I was unable to obtain any additional information, except she did confirm they do have a very active waitlist. -- Although I have no concrete evidence, it seems the remaining letters will be either waitlists or rejections. For those waitlisted, there is a great thread that contain a few links with information on increasing your chances of moving off of the waitlist: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=191306

I talked to someone today @ MCG and they said that not all acceptance letters have gone out, and that they do not send them out in any particular order. So that gives me a little hope, but I guess Mrs. DeVaughn info would probably more accurate. Why do you say it seems that they will only be waitlist or rejections? Is it just a feeling?
Also, I have heard that the waitlist is set in stone, they do not change it once it is formed. Does anyone have info about this?

for what it's worth, our interview group was told that about 1/2 of the waitlist students eventually get accepted. that seems high to me (what do i know anyway?), but that's what they said.
good luck to everybody still waiting....

Yes, the waitlist is set in stone; I was on it last year. Does anyone know for sure if any acceptances were mailed out during this week? I interviewed 3/2 and didn't expect to hear back til the very end anyways.

It was painful reading everyone's opinion that only rejections and waitlists would be sent out just now so I called the admissions office and they said they are still sending out acceptances, waitlists, and rejections. I then specifically asked if they were sending out acceptances to make sure they understood my question and the person replied, "yes, we are still sending out acceptances". With that said it sounds like everyone is still in the game.

My apologies....When I posted I thought it was only waitlists or rejections, it was just a feeling. I'm glad you all followed up.

Are any of you from undergrads in GA? Good luck.

thanks for info, nothing today

Finally some news from MCG today. I am on the alternate list and the letter was postmarked 4-6-05. I also called the admissions office and spoke with Mrs. Holland, but they will not tell you how far up or down the waitlist you are. She did say however that they usually pull about 60 people off the list. I remain optimistic about eventually being accepted even if I have to reapply EDP. I also wonder if the alternate letters are sent out in any particular order. In other words, does a early alternate letter indicate a higher rank? Good luck to everyone else, sounds like everyone will be hearing something soon.

It looks like ER Junkie could be correct that they started sending out all the letters yesterday. So we should probablly hear tommorow or Saturday, of course I have been thinking that I will hear tommorow for around 2 weeks now, so who knows what will happen. I hope you get taken from the waitlist garn2md, and I hope we get some good news tommorow.

still nothing...good luck guys!!!!

Waitlisted....=MORE WAITING 😡

waitlisted here as well

Do you guys have any idea what the size of the alternate list usually is at MCG?

dont know the size but about 60 people are taken off it

hey did anyone hear of anyone getting accepted in in the past week? I still havn't heard but my mail usually takes a couple of extra days to reach me from GA seeing as how I am in Boston.
