Waitlisted....Don't know of anyone accetped in the last week.-- All waitlists...Does anyone know if they place every interviewee that is not accepted on the waitlist?

I agree kamel. I've been eagerly awaiting my letter from them so that I can begin to make plans. I'd much rather live in Philly and go to Jefferson, but I feel guilty about spending more money. I was hoping to get a rejection so I coould go to Philly without guilt. However, being waitlisted so late (i still haven't gotten it yet, I'm assuming it will be here tomorrow) makes me feel better about making Philly plans. I guess I'd waitlisted people who want to go to MCG have to wait until late-May or after. I think I'd rather committ myself to a higher debt put this waiting game to an end.

waitlisted. is there anyone who views this site that has been accepted?

Rejected!

I'm sorry to hear that AthensBeth. At least you've been accepted somewhere (which is a much better position than I am currently in). Are you a Georgia resident?

After I received my financial aid package from the first school I was accepted, I went ahead and completed the FAFSA. When filling it out I added MCG, just to cover all bases.

How is everyone feeling about being on the waitlist? I am very nervous, because I feel there are so many qualified people on the list. I hope there is alot of turnover.

I feel the same, what school does everyone go to?

Yes, I'm a Georgia resident.. I guess it doesn't really matter, but I feel sort of slighted. My interview went really well, I thought. I even knew one of my interviews because he's a colleague of my graduate advisor. I knew applying late would hurt me, but I though I'd at least get waitlisted. Who knows... At least my parents won't give me a guilt trip for taking out double the loan amount for private school...I have no choice!

I'm a Bulldawg! 😀

In regards to the alternate list, I have spoken with two representatives at MCG, Linda DeVaughn and my interviewer (resides on adcom). Both confirm the waitlist is ranked and "set in stone." Mrs. DeVaughn also mentioned the alternate list has began to move as of this week. Has anyone contacted the school or spoken with anyone of whom has insight into MCG's alternate list movement (i.e. additional LORs, incessantly calling admissions 😉?

Does anyonw know how they will let us know? Is it by mail, email, or phone?

They will call or email - and you have 48 hours to respond.

Any info/ updates?

Are we supposed to send transcripts now, and then again when we finish classes this spring, or just a final transcript when we finish up in a month. If you look at the letter they sent, it is a bit unclear (or maybe I am just stupid). 😳

I remember being confused about that too. I'm pretty sure I just sent the final transcript without any problems. If you want to be one hundred percent sure just call linda devaughn (sp?) in admissions.

Congrats again

Finally sent in a letter declining my MCG acceptance today. I hope it helps one of you out 🙂 It was a very hard decision - I was really impressed by MCG. Good luck to all.

p.s. the pen is mightier, for $1000

hey everybody, a friend of mine got into MCG today.
got a call on his cell phone by someone from the admission's office, couldn't remember who b/c of the excitement.
hopefully that means the list will start moving and you guys will get some good news soon.
best of luck, let us know if anyone hears
peace

How quickly do you all think they process the decline and in turn send out an acceptance. Yesterday was the 15th, but it was won a sunday. Does this mean that they will be sending alot of acceptances out today, or will it take them a few days? This waiting is painfull.

I got off the waitlist May 11th via a call from Mrs. Devaughn, though I still haven't received the letter in the mail. I'll be at MCG in August!

Oh yea! Good for you!
I totally understand if you don't want to answer this, but...What were your stats? I'm just trying to get a feel for where I might be at on the list.

*or you can just tell me if my numbers are comparable...29P...3.3...3.4science

bump. it didn't go to top of list for some reason

can those that recently got off the waitlist post their mcat scores and gpa so we can get an idea of where we are on the list

thanks

I'm a GA resident, 28R, 3.2 science gpa, 3.5 total; numbers are not exciting but I have a lot of international health experience and two years research work experience post-college, and then a lot of extra-currics, leadership, public service etc. Good luck waitlisted folks!!

Hopeful - By chance, when did you interview?

Thanks,

The Turd

I interviewed literally the first week of regular decision interviews - beginning of October sometime.

cool deal...thanks.

I know they say the waitlist is ranked, set in stone, and forever mysterious, but I had a very nice e-mail exchange with the Dean and my letter of intent. I was then accepted two days later...might be useful information.

So, is the majority of the movement off the alternate list finished? Does anyone have any ideas?

I hope it isn't

I really hope it still has alot of movement left

I hope it is still moving also. It just seems like we're not hearing of anyone else being pulled from the alternate list anymore.

I know someone who got off it in the middle of June last year.

Assuming you guys are in Georgia, what are your plans for the worst case scenario? I'm thinking about taking some classes at G-state this fall, though the grades will not show on this next AMCAS so I don't know if it will help very much.

If i dont get into MCG, I am going to be going to MCW this fall.

If you are interested, the Medical Neuroanatomy and Human Phys courses are really good at GA State. PM me if you have questions about courses or professors 👍

Does Anyone Have Any Thoughts About Mcg Compared To Mercer? I Am Trying To Decide Which One I Want To Attend But It Is Hard. Does Anyone Thing That Mcg Has A Lot Better Rep And Would Greatly Increase My Chances Of Getting Into A Better Residency

i have heard mercer has higher board score averages - so that might be something to seriously think about.
