Are you going to get the degree before get into the program next Fall?

Hey, PharmDream309

I have been read some your post and I was wondering something. On your post, you say that the first day for interview is beginning of October, right. How come there is some people have interview on Sep 30. Also, when did u have interview and have u receive any letter or phone calls from them, yet. From what I know, it takes about 2 weeks to receive the letter. I don't know how some people got accept on the next day after interview.

That was what the lady who works at admission office told me. Maybe they changed it to Sept 30. I think people said the date that they got accepted base on the date on the letter. My interview was almost 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the decision. It is true that some people got accepted 1 or 2 days after the interview. What about you? Did you get the interview too?

Yeah, I'm in. I takes about 2 weeks to receive the letter.

If it takes too long, should I call admissions to ask if I was accepted or not?

Don't even bother to call counselor because they never pick up the phone. I suggest you call Kate because she always there and she can check the status of decision. Plus, she can give you a hint if you got accept. That is what I did and I figure it out that I got accept before I receive the letter.

What did you ask her when you call? And what did she said that make you know that you was accepted?

I ask her when I will receive a letter since my friend already receive it in a week. Then, she ask your name, where you from, date of appointment, and check the result. She will says that you will receive the letter soon and also said "you will be pleased with the decision". When she say that I know that I got in.

When you have interview and what is your academic status (if you don't mind to share)

You are not alone!! 🙁

Haha same here... i haven't seen one accepted with an overall gpa of 3.0 or under... 3.2 is the least I've heard of so far. Anyone else hear of someone getting accepted here with a low gpa?

hi guys. I'm debating if I should apply now or wait till next yr. hopefully someone can help!! 🙂 I already have a BSN but will start to complete science and math prerequisites starting January. I should be done by summer session two which I believe ends toward the end of August. My overall gpa was 3.49 at graduation. I have been working as a pharm. tech for a few years now. If I apply now is there any chance I can get accepted, even though most of my science prereq. are not completed??

As long as you can finish all your prereqs by Spring 2014 you have a good chance! I am not sure about summer though; check the website or PharmCAS page of the school to see what's the latest semester they can take for this cycle. Typically, most schools allow till Spring. If you can, try squeezing in 19 credits or so in Spring?

Anyone interviewed last week and received accept letter this week? I am still waiting.

Hello, I am scheduled to have an interview on November 23rd. I was wondering if any current pharmacy students at Worcester could possibly give me any information on how classes are like and how their overall experiences are so far? Thanks!!

Hey, can I ask what your stats are and when you applied? I just applied and the application packet will reach them by Friday via PharmCAS of course

I submitted my pharmcas application about mid September, and I received a letter from them on October 7th. My stats are 3.9 cGPA and 4.0 sGPA. However, I'm currently still in the process of completing the pre-reqs. Also, I do not have any work experience with any pharmacies. I hope this helps!! Good luck to you 🙂

Well it's been two weeks now and I haven't received anything yet. I tried calling Kate but it seems I can never reach her by phone. The only time I reached her was when I woke up at 5:30am to schedule the interview because I live at PST time. Should I keep calling her? I don't want to leave any bad impressions or anything by seeming too impatient to know what the decision is.

Try emailing her? She's very nice! And they're generally pretty understanding about you being anxious, it's natural for you to be during this process. So don't hesitate to give her another call if she doesn't reply by email.

I wouldn't worry much about the essays. They give you 5 prompts to choose from and most of them were really fun to write about 🙂
As for the interview, it was very conversational (at least mine was). Typical questions come up like why MCPHS, why pharmacy, etc. and whatever else they observe/can pull from your file. Goodluck!!

I am a bit edgy about my admission process. I am applying from Canada to several American schools, including MCPHS. I have 3.10 GPA overall. I think my prereq GPA must be around 3.3-3.4. Hopefully, by the end of this year I will have improved GPA. I worked pretty hard on my personal essay and I have got LORs that can support my claims that I made in the personal essay. I have got pretty valuable pharmacy and extracurricular background. I am hoping I can get the interview with my GPA.

For those that got your acceptances already, as long as your deposit is postmarked before that 30 days it's good right? Or does the school need to receive your payment within that 30 days?

Hey guys, I am a P1 at MCP Worcester. Let me know if anyone of you has questions about the school (curriculum, rumors, ....). I was in the same shoes last year, and would be glad to help. Overall, it is a GREAT school with a great faculty. Just make sure that you guys come prepared. If you have attended a rigorous program before you will be just fine. If not, I advice that you either take some advanced SCIENCE courses at a 4-YEAR institution (Physiology + Patho is where most of us struggle during our P1 year)or at least have a degree in science.

Congrats on everyone who have been accepted! I received an interview letter today! 🙂 For those who have already called Kate to schedule for an interview. Were the days flexible as in you were able to choose any day you want? Or they only conduct interviews on certain days? Thanks in advance! 🙂

They're really flexible! Just ask them for the days available and they'll give you a bunch of options. They also let me reschedule when my schedule didn't work out and were super nice about it 🙂

I would like to know this as well. Does anybody know? It says it must be returned 30 days from the day of the letter.

Hmmm I can't seem to reach Kate and I've left her a message today. For those who had the interview, What time does the interview start? And how long was the whole interview process and tour of the school? Thanks!

The whole process was probably two hours and 30 minutes (30 mins essay, 30-40 minutes interview, tour, plus wait time). I was there at 930 and finished at noon...Good luck!

Hey Jalvader,

Just some general questions: how much do you study per day/per week? How is the social scene in Worcester? What do you do for fun outside campus? Is the curriculum so rigorous that you barely get time for social life?

anyone interviewed on 11/4 or around that time got acceptance letter already???

Please provide some detail about off-campus housing. Where are the good places etc..

I have my interview on nov. 23. Do I have to fly into boston and find a ride to worcester? If so do you know the cheapest way to get to worcester from the airport?

Anyone interviewed at Manchester Campus? I'm doing my interview next week and I wanted to know if anyone interviewed at Manchester and how it went?

Do you guys know if they will allow me to extend the deadline for the deposit? I don't have enough money to pay the deposit yet.

Just call and ask. It seems like most schools will give a 2 week extension

I was interviewed on 11/1 got the letter 11/12.
Those of you guys who is sure of attending MCPHS-Worcester, what helped you decide on this school? I can't seem to make up my mind =(
