MD/PhD applicants in IM this year?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well I am not an MD/PhD applicant. But I did apply to a few of the research track IM programs, and only heard from University of Chicago to fill out a secondary application so far. Did other programs send secondary applications too?

Wait, you had to do a secondary? Good grief, that would be like applying to med school all over again. Is this something all research residencies do, or is it specific to U Chicago? And how much do they charge for secondary fees?

There are a few research pathway programs which have a secondary app. They don't charge for it (at least in my experience). It's not nearly as bad as the med school secondaries though.

Awesome! I always knew I will find company in my misery🙄

Not exactly MD/PhD - got MD 6+ yrs ago and finished PhD the last year. IMG, so my ass is on fire already. I applied to 35, got one reject.

Have been told that my PS looks so researchy that most middle tier programs won't even bother. Of course, most top tier programs don't bother with IMG. All in all, interesting times..

I have applied in research track to-
NW, UChicago, MGH, UPenn, Yale

NW acknowledged categorical application.
Yale acknowledged my interest in research track.
Do MGH/UPenn have additional application?
