Basically two quizzes about the 'right' specialties for you. Post your top 5 for one or both, and if they are specialties you are at the moment interested in or not.

So are med students and other pre-meds who post the same thing. 🙄

I only took the second one and got these:

Neurosurgery (96.1)
Pediatric Surgery (97.99)
Emergency Medicine (111.01)
Thoracic Surgery (112.15)
Vascular Surgery (117.75)

Apparently, lower numbers reflect a "closer alignment" with a particular specialty.

I still agree with the second quiz a little more. I don't think I would ever enjoy pathology. 😕

Honestly, this quiz was pretty accurate but I can tell a lot of my results are ROAD specialities results 😵

Haha fat chances...

Edit: the only thing I had repeated in both top 5s was ortho... I wonder what that says about me

Top one was Otolaryngology (ENT), which is all that matters because that is what my heart is set on 😍

It seemed like the first quiz was repeating the same questions..

First:

Radiology- I have strong interests in radiology, but I do want some patient interaction so IR is a consideration.
Pathology- Little interests in pathology.
Neurology- Ehhh.
Neurosurgery- Love neurosurgery but I don't know if I could handle the hours.
Infectious Disease- Something I'd consider.

Second:

Radiology- See above.
Pediatric Surgery- Interested.
Cardiology- Interested.
Radiation Oncology- Highly interested.
Dermatology- No interest whatsoever.
 
2nd quiz:

These specialties have all been in my mind this past year w/the exception of preventative medicine. I'll have to research it!

There seems to be little overlap between these tests.
 
test one:
1 neurology 42 - could definitely see that
2 cardiology 41 - this one too
3 nuclear med 40
4 pulmonology 40
5 urology 40 - ?? why?!

test two is less accurate for me, but here it is:
Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine
Radiation Oncology
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Hematology
Gastroenterology
 
Both told me pretty distinctly that I should be ENT - I hadn't even really considered that. I also got thoracic surgery (badass) and neurosurgery (also badass) in both, but to a lesser degree than ENT.

I agree that the 2nd test is more accurate. I've taken the first one before and it always ranks number 1 as my least favorite.

Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine - maybe
Urology - probably not
Pediatric Surgery - kinda cool!
Otolaryngology - number one interest at the moment!
General Surgery - pretty interested
Vascular Surgery - probably my second choice!

Seeing a lot of pre-meds interested in ENT. Kinda cool since I dont think ive actually ever ran into another pre-med who had the same interest as me.
 
1st quiz was too long so I didn't bother doing it....

2nd quiz:

Dermatology - better start studying for Step 1 asap! :laugh:
Psychiatry - yeaa buddy
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - have definitely considered this
Allergy and Immunology - :annoyed: no thanks...

Pediatrics - 😀 ideal choice but there are some major cons to the profession that are making me reconsider
Family Practice - no...no...no :bang:
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - could definitely see myself doing this
Radiation Oncology - not sure how I could deal with cancer patients everyday but it is a very interesting field
Rheumotology - ok field but I'm not that interested in it.

I'd say that the 2nd quiz was pretty accurate.

I don't think the first quiz is accurate at all.

This could not have been more accurate! I'm very interested in pediatrics and/or pediatric oncology. Additionally, I loved my experiences shadowing cardiologists and had that high on my list as well.
