I see a post from 2002. Let's see if there has been any change in 2012.

Medical school attire. Anyone care to discuss?

Street clothes for everything but things involving patients. I would probably try to find a different school if they had a dress code all the time.

Just run through this check list*:

1. Something covering groin?

2. Something covering upper body.

3. Shoes, maybe flip flops.

*Note: if you stay at home and podcast disregard list. Stay naked if you want.

First two years is whatever you want for lectures. People looking like unmitigated slobs was not uncommon. Shirt/tie (or female equivalent) for the random SP/patient encounters.

Third and fourth year is shirt/tie (or female equivalent) when you have to and scrubs when you can.
