Random conspiracy theory:
UWorld has a way of tying IP addresses to usernames/accounts on most of its website. I can only assume that SDN has something similar and, since MedPR and Mehd School accounts are both on hold at the same time, this might have happened because of them being tied to the same place.

Other than that, your guess is as good as mine.

Am I the only person on SDN that has one account?!?!?!?!?

No, me too.

(sent from my phone)

Me three.

I hope that the events of past November don't get repeated with MedPR. It would be sad to see a thread by him starting off with "I apologize to whoever I offended because I had my acceptance at X school rescinded"

Sitting post acceptance is not the time to do something stupid in a public forum. Just ask "Dr. Seuss."

Someone should post a link to the thread that got him banned. I am too lazy to,look for it.

Man, I really like MedPR....

My second favorite was the SDN cheer-leader Agent B 😆

No, but in all seriousness, I really do like MedPR

I wonder what he did

TopCat returns! Not surprising 🙄. I thought you said you won't post anymore... what happened? Just had to post in this thread?

I hope it's not permanent I like MedPR as well. I'm about to go read sdn's terms of service right now lol it seems like its a lot more strict than I thought.

Even poetic silence has an account on hold I wonder what they did because I like them too lol

I think medPR is a little smarter than the guy who got his acceptance taken away... That guy was basically asking for it lol

I agree. The event that transpired in November was the result of a continuous showcase of poor judgement. I remember having to personally speak out in pre-osteo when he started using first names. That's disrespectful. MedPR wouldn't do that.

He started using names? Whoa..... I never knew that.

I read the thread and he was coming off as a bit of a smartass. That being said, it would be tragic to see his acceptance be rescinded on account of some childish comment on an anonymous forum. Hopefully, the repercussions of what he said and did on SDN don't extend into and affect his future goals. I remember him being quite proud of his acceptance into medical school despite a lack-luster GPA.

I got bored 🙄

Some of you guys need to rest easy. Your beloved MedPR will be back.

Post Hold =/= Banned

He will be back to his 36 posts/day antics in a week or two.

EDIT:

For those that love speculation, that thread posted by MuAgonist might have been the original issue. But to be put on timeout "account hold", he must have done something like: A) continue posting in said thread after being ordered to stop by admins/mods, B) gotten into a PM argument with admins/mods, C) he requested to be put on account hold so he will be able to do things other than SDN over the christmas holiday 😉

i've read about this for a while on SDN about how someone got his acceptance rescinded because of his comments. is this the same incident as the person who synced his facebook profile to his SDN account?

what exactly happened?

everyone says something on here that he/she isn't 100 percent proud of, so what did this person do to warrant such a severe consequence? and how did medical schools found out about it all?

Said person's SDN name was the same as their Facebook username. Not to mention that he publicly revealed who he was in the school Facebook group.

As for why, it's uncertain but it was thought to be due to a history of comments that were not looked on favorably, leading to the result. Med schools are known to view SDN, so of course if a certain school saw an accepted student very publicly tied to the school also saying these things, they're gonna have a bad time.

However, this is speculation as the school never specifically said what led them to make their choice.

same user name for SDN and fb? that's never a smart idea

what did some of those comments entail?

Man, how many times have we had to explain this? Lol

The school probably would've never found out, but someone got butthurt.com and snitched.

Remember ya'll. Snitches get stitches.

Not sure what UWorld has to do with this... but other than that, I guess it makes sense. Let's see how it goes.

Woah.. did not know they could do that. Then again.. I don't get out much 😀

Yeah... I saw that one coming. 🙄
If everyone that was occasionally sarcastic/rude was reported every time, there would be no "N" in "SDN".

On the bright side, I think a lot of people on here have a personality like mine so it's fun to watch. 👍

That thread got hijacked. OP presented his concern and MedPR made an inappropriate joke... but the attention shifted to criticizing MedPR for the joke rather than addressing OP's concern... not really a useful thread.

This was never a useful thread. This has nothing to do with anything pre med related.

I'm just waiting for MedPR's triumphant return to SDN.

I'm glad...that dude was the worst

A lot of threads that MedPR ends up stumbling in now-a-days end up not being very useful

BUUUUT, A lot of the ones that he ends up not being an ass in are better because of his contributions

Man, I keep hearing about this dramatic November SDN fiasco, including something about someone's acceptance being rescinded. I clearly missed one of the most interesting threads of all time 👎

It largely took place in the pre-osteo forum. Easy to miss if you never stumble into that area.

pre-med-or-dead linked an archive to the deleted thread on another thread, I can't remember which one though

Yeah it was a hot topic for about a week since the person was served right before Thanksgiving. I guess SDN hasn't collectively moved on from it totally. It was a harsh lesson learned, but one that could be easily avoided.

Ppl should learn to let go. Can we move on from that previous incident?

You mean, something like this?:

Page 1

Page 2
Page 3
Page 4
Page 5
Page 6
Page 7
Page 8

Let this be a warning, people, don't be stupid on the internet.

Bonus Points

Remember: Anything you post can and will be recorded.

there you go

only on some of the pages, not all, you can still read like 90% of the thread.

DUDE!! click all the links before you post!!

EDIT
ok, I lied, only page 1, 2, and 4 I think

DOUBLE EDIT:

Some of the pages work, some don't, but, when you get to a page that does, it gives you the option at the bottom to move on to a page that didn't work.

Simply move on to the page, it'll give you an "invalid thread" error, just copy the link from the URL, and paste it after the

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:

or something like that.

idk dude, be creative, you'll figure it out!!

Ahhh yes, the rescindment of November. It was an instant classic in the Pre-Osteo forum. The OP of that thread was really public about who he was and being accepted to a particular school. He said some racially controversial things and allegedly made threats against some people on facebook and SDN. Somehow the university that had accepted him found out and rescinded his acceptance. He came to SDN and made a massive thread right before Thanksgiving break. A true legend of our times. He deleted the thread, but some say that if you look in the right places, you shall find it.

Ah, that really does sound interesting (but it reeks of "troll"). Was the whole thing a hoax in the end?

No it's for real. He was using his real name and somebody reported his comments on facebook to the adcom.

It's almost a miracle that I've never been put on hold or banned.
