I am sorry, but as the founder of this thread, I must push back on this right now.

This is not a general medicine meme thread. This is not nocontextortho on IG (that page is f********* awesome. This thread is about podiatry. It is about this history, the self hate, the corruption, the oversaturation, the blame, the misery and whatever LCR thinks we only talk about. @eyeeye_captain is an honorary member. But otherwise if you are an MD/DO you can't relate. It's that simple. Just like we can't relate to the feeling about being able to honestly call oneself a doctor. None of these memes should make sense to you because you don't have our lived experiences. Holy crap I can't believe I just typed that. But it's true. So please, no more.

I'm sorry, this is just the way it is. Hondo Hondo post a meme about how the hearts job is to deliver ancef to the bones.... Podiatry does that and everybody's like get a load of these guys they're just dumb podiatrists.... It works because everybody knows Ortho is smart as crap they're just playing into the stereotype. It doesn't work for podiatrists. I don't expect you to appreciate that, but every podiatrist in here would.... Wait let me explain this in meme format

airbud's barely a podiatrist. He's had it so hard only working for hospitals and getting signing bonuses everywhere he's been.

This is what I imagine its like being an MD/DO, but you have to be a podiatrist to fully get this...

yeah Mr. airbuds a homie - we talk on the side. I learned a lot about pod culture from him

im a non trad MD. I worked a buncha odd jobs throughout the hospital and have even gotten to talk with DPMs - they seemed chill. i always assumed they were like PAs but only for the ortho service.

i think if there has been one thing i learned from SDN, hospital scutwork, and talking with so so many ppl is that the grass will always look greener on the other side

back when I was drawing inpatient blood at 3AM i wish I could be in med school rn.

All my IMG friends want to be at least a DO so they can at least be in the US

alot of my DO friends wish they chose the IMG option so they at least have MD in their title.

A lot of non surgeons i worked with hate their field and wish they chose something like peds

A lot of the hospitalists grumble they dont like the bureacracy of their work and wish they were more procedural like surgery

even my MD classmates have told me they wish they went to a better, top 20 med school.

i promise yall the feeling of insecurity is universal - it never really goes away. humor and memes are kinda like medicine in a funny way because everyon and every subculture uses them to relieve the pain

thank you all for this meme channel and letting us all get a glimpse of your guys’ interesting culture

.....welcome aboard.
Looking forward to your future memes.

Someone can probably meme this, but we had a medical issue on a flight yesterday where the flight attendants asked for any “medical doctors” to hit their call button. I most certainly did not but what’s the over/under on A) the number of RNs who pushed their call buttons? And B) number of fellowship trained Foot and Ankle Surgeons who would have pushed theirs?

Had that happen in a few public settings and on a plane.
Was always an army of frantic nurses running to the patient.

This is why we need a podiatry meme page for insta/tiktok/x because some scenarios are legitimately amusing but don't work on an image board. You wouldn't even need to make skits, you could probably use a slideshow or gifs or AI. There's a lot of trending templates on social media that could work for podiatry. Also I recently had another amusing interaction involving a student that I want to post about here but I don't feel like starting a thread and I don't feel like replying to an old thread either so I'm trying to figure out how to meme about it, but again, it doesn't work for an image board.

I was on a flight once when a "medical emergency" happened and someone collapsed in the aisle in front of me. At least that's what the guy next to me told me, when I woke up 2 hours later.

The miracle of noise cancelling headphones.
