I sent in my mercer application in late October/November, and didn't hear back until Late December. But I figure with the application cycle coming to a close, they'll probably get back to you sooner than later now, once they receive everything from you.
 
Anyone who was interviewed on February 11th hear anything back yet? Someone said that the admissions committee was supposed to meet today.
 
I received an acceptance call this morning, so I guess they met yesterday. Good Luck everyone else...you should hear something today

I interviewed on the 28th of Jan. and havent heard anything back yet, so I'm guessing I didn't make it. 🙁

I would definitely email Emily Foster about your status since it has been over 2 weeks.
 
well I got a response today via email, looks like I'm on the wait list. Whether thats a good thing or bad thing, I'm not sure... Guess it depends on on how big their wait list is...
 
I interviewed on the 11th and received am email notifying me I was waitlisted :/ anybody when the adcom is meeting again?
 
Amanda told me last week that they are meeting again on Wednesday this week.

I can't speak for the other two schools, but Mercer has great rotation sites and block scheduling. I know several people who have went to Mercer and they say the block scheduling is really sweet. My biggest concern is cost. My financial brain fears the idea of 100+k in debt. Either way you got a good problem to have...good luck
 
Had my interview this past Friday! It was a great experience- I have my fingers crossed for Thursday, since I think that is when they are going to call. Everyone's advice here was also really helpful, so thanks everybody!
 
Got my acceptance phone call!! I have to wait until April for my next interview, though I already know I prefer Mercer. The only thing making me nervous (as stated above by a few other people) is the cost. I am feeling pressured, should I get into my state school (which is a good chance, since UF pretty much accepts most people they interview), to go there despite how much I liked Mercer, just because of cost. But regardless, I am really happy I got accepted!
 
After confirming my interview day, I got another interview @ my 1st choice school for the same day. I dont want to risk it at my 1st choice school. has this happen to anybody before? can i still email them at mercer to schedule another interview day even after confirming? I am confused.... plz suggestions are welcome...
 
Just call them and ask if you can reschedule, they will say fine unless they don't have any dates left.
 
does mercer do interviews through march?? or are they pretty much done now?

No...my interview date is 3/25...but I am debating whether or not to cancel it because I just found out I got in to my 1st choice home state school...

does this mean i'm being denied, they just don't want to tell me yet?

I believe that is the message I got when I was placed on the waiting list
 
but i haven't even been invited for an interview yet?
 
I just got an invitation for interview. has anybody been to the interview process, what type of questions were they asking? what is the layout on the interview day? any hint is welcome....

The interview is really laid back. After you sign in, you'll go to a meeting room where you'll wait with all of the other candidates for the interview to begin. Then Dr. Bartling and Jordana will speak. After that, you'll be broken up into small groups and will go on a campus tour. Once that is over, you'll have 3 separate interviews--one with a faculty member, one with a pharmacy student, and one where you will "mingle" with students, Dr. Bartling & Jordana, and the other candidates. Each interview is 30 minutes long and it just depends on which one you will have first. Then you're done...no essay 🙂

The interview was very casual, the faculty interview was not typical. There were no set questions, I was simply told "tell me about yourself" the student interview was similar, tell me about yourself, no questions that you expect, the "tell me about a tough decision you have made", or "what would you do if you did not get accepted this year?". The interview as I interpreted it is important as I can tell you my GPA was very mediocre, (granted PCAT was very good) so I imagine that the interview carried me. The student mingling time seems to be your chance to shine, to show how you are outgoing and will act as a pharmacist. I encourage you to engage all the people there students and faculty alike. Make sure you know what Mercer offers and talk up the aspects that brought you to the school in the first place.
Good luck to you, the campus is attractive and the staff kind and courteous.

One question I was asked by EVERYONE was "Why Mercer?". Make sure you know why you would want to go to Mercer, what they have to offer, etc. Also, ask them questions, too! 🙂

I submitted my application in January and PharmCas received all my materials in February but I haven't heard anything from Mercer regarding that they are inviting for interviews, or holding off or anything. Does anybody know the last date of interviews? I haven't heard anything at all- that's why I am wondering.

Hello am in the same boat as you...I applied to mercer and I have not heard anything yet.... Am just worried that they are full...I called them and they said they are interviewing throughout April and May... I applied back in december but they had to wait on my jan pcat but still its taing too long... Do you mind sharing your pcat and gpa so this way I get an idea why its taking too long to get an answer please!🙂

I'm in the same situation - Mercer confirmed receipt of my application package, but it was after the posted deadline :scared: I have been told by other people that they interview until the end of March? I hope that they are interviewing thru April/May, as the previous poster mentioned. Good luck to all of us who are waiting! Congrats to those accepted!

I interviewed on the 25th too and haven't heard anything yet. The associate dean said the committee would be meeting in 2-3 weeks (from the 3/25 interview). I have offer deadlines from other schools closing in and I really want to hear back from Mercer! Have you heard anything since you last posted?

Not yet. I remember them saying something about the 2-3 weeks, but I'm just being impatient haha. I'll post when I hear back - good news or bad news. Hopefully it's soon so you don't have to eat a deposit!
 
Well, I submitted my app in January, received a confirmation email in early March, and just called and was told my application is still under review. 😡

Mrs. Foster told me their next Interview Day is April 29th, and they may have interviews after that into May.

I've already been accepted to one school and have had 2 other interviews (should have decisions this week). I wish I could find out what the hold-up is! :wtf:
 
I interviewed last Friday, April 1 and they stated that the next committee meeting will be Tues, April 12.

Good to know!! I have been impatiently waiting since my interview on the 25th, gahhh.
