Can you share your stats and when you applied? I received a processed app email in early March but haven't heard anything since then.

Other than that I did visit a few weeks ago. Wasn't overly impressed with the facilities and they are not very advanced technologically, but they have a great reputation so I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a pharmacy school.

my stats: gpa is around 3.7 something, pcat: except reading comprehension, everything else was 60 and 70 something percentile. treasurer of honors association, walgreens pharmacy tech for over 3 years and hospital pharmacy tech for one year, microbiology independent research with my mentor and phi Theta kappa honor society member and graduating from honors college in may and 4 recommendations from professors and my pharmacist. walgreens award and dean's list every semester.

i got into my top choice lecom-erie back in january but it's tempting because mercer is top ranked and has excellent reputation. is it worth to still go to the interview? i applied in october and wow they finally gave me an interview. i was soooooooo shocked

hope this helps. what's your opinion about mercer?

Honestly it's my first choice based on reputation. I have an interview at Belmont this week and I think it may be my second choice. Basically the exact opposite of you as far as academics are concerned. 80's and 90's on the PCAT in everything but the math, but am graduating this month with a haunting 3.0 GPA (who knew a B average would suck so bad? :hardy:). Eight months retail experience with letter from pharmacist, awesome one from a professor, and one from another boss/clergy. In a couple of organizations and have some decent leadership roles.

I really like Mercer's tradition and community involvement, but the campus seems outdated and technologically deficient. However, one can't deny their reputation so they must be doing something right!

So I'll just sum up my feelings in one sentence: I hope you decline your invitation...so they might invite me :laugh::laugh:

congrats and see you there. i applied to mercer back in october and november. Is it a bad sign that they didn't invite me for an interview on april 29th until now? Mercer is my first choice, i thought they didn't want mt so I went to other interviews and got into 3 other pharmacy schools. Do you know how many spots they have left? Is it still worth it interviewing this late?

Florida. Actually graduating from Florida State that night.😀 Gonna have to book it home.

Hey I am graduating that night from FSU too! Congrats! And good luck on the interview.

to make anyone feel better about mercer. I turned down the interview from Nova just to attend mercer interview on april 29th. see you guys there and i emailed ms. foster and she said there are still seats left and hope we'll all get in

you are right about that! I applied back in Dec and I almost gave up in Mercer. I got accepted to one other school but I still wanted Mercer. Its a very good school, great reputation and awesome profesoors.
As I heard they still have some spots open but they don't tell you how may, However peolple that get interviewd this late most of them get waitlisted, because a lot of people wait to hear from uga so they give up their seats at Mercer the last minute, that is why a lot of us get waitlisted. However, we still have a chance of being accepted without being waitlisted...like my friend said they would not waist their time calling us for an interview unless they are iINTERSTED on us....the only thing left now is that we have to really impress them on the interview, Mercer takes their interview very seriously what you say and do at the interview really matters.
last, I was told that mercer will still accept people till the beguining of june AND july until the fill up every spot left.

I called Mercer for those who are waiting, and i was told that mercer's last interview is the middle of May but i'm not sure.

goodluclk everyone:xf:

Just got my acceptance call as well! I interviewed on the 25th at 1pm. I'm super excited and will be seeing you all in the fall! Good luck everyone still waiting👍👍👍👍!

just got my call as well! also interviewed on 3/25 at 1 pm. awesome!

Received my call too! I interviewed on April 1st. Congrats everyone!

Congrats to all who were accepted! Can you guys share your stats? Don't be embarrassed, it would just help those of us who are still interviewing/waiting to gauge our chances. Thanks and congrats!

Here are my stats, though I really don't know if its worth comparing with yours just because it is probably the whole picture that is used. I honestly don't know how I did during the interview so it could have helped tremendously or not but here you go!

Degree: B.S. Biochemistry and Molecular Bio from UGA
Work history: No pharmacy work but 1 year of working in a biochem research lab at UGA. Also, I spent 9 years in the Marines so don't know if that helped
PCAT: 77
Pre-Pharm GPA: 3.8
Overall GPA: 3.2 (but this is due to grades from 13 years ago!!)

Again, I wouldn't judge your chances off of anyone's stats. Good luck

Here are my stats - I wouldn't judge your chances off others' stats either, but I know I was really curious too so
Degree: B.S. in Biology from Truman State University
PCAT: 88
only shadowed one pharmacist, talked to some pharmacy family friends
Overall GPA: 3.45
Pre-pharm/Bio major GPA: ~3.2

I think I did pretty well at the interview. Make sure you ask lots of questions, even during the group introduction at the beginning of the interview. Honestly, lots of other people during my interview seemed really timid, except for one girl and I knew everyone would remember her because she was asking questions - so I took it upon myself to do the same. Didn't drive 8.5 hours to be forgotten after the interview!

congratulation everyone 🙂
hey! is anybody looking for a roommate?

I prefer to live with female 🙂
would you e-mail me?
we can get to know each other before the school starts!

[email protected]

I am looking forward to seeing you guys!

My stats:

B.S. in Health Science from University of Miami
science gpa: 3.2 (got a nice C- in orgo 2 whoops, had to re-take physics 1 after getting a D)
overall: 3.58 (kind of misleadingly high, as i took classes like "history of the 60s" and "intro to scriptwriting" while at school)
PCAT: 90 (again, kind of misleading - i got a 61 in math and 68 in chemistry, but a 99 in verbal ability)
i've worked at a CVS as a pharm tech for about 2 years and change.

I'm in the same camp as the people that said you shouldn't use stats to compare (although i admit i love seeing other people's). Your stats are your stats, can't change em now. Plus, as you can see from mine, the numbers don't tell the whole story. Just remember they wouldn't interview you in the first place if you weren't competitive. What you can do is take laurfrog's advice and be proactive at the interview. They're all really nice there so don't be afraid to just walk right up to the current students or adcom members and, like a boss, introduce yourself - especially during "mingle time." Be confident and get some face time to showcase your award winning personality. good luck hombre

Anyone looking for roommate for this fall? Contact me at [email protected]. I prefer female. Im planning to live in park pointe north which is the closest to campus apts.

i'm coming to the interview on april 29th. i have a question. does anyone know is there a hotel near mercer that also provides airport shuttle and reasonable price? does anyone know if the quality inn on ranchwood drive provide airport shuttle? free breakfast will be a bonus too. because i'm trying to save money on cabs. all feedbacks are appreciated. thank you people and congrats to everyone who got accepted. I want to get in too:xf:

I'm planning on living on campus this coming fall and I'm looking for a female roommate. If you're interested please send me an email containing some basic info about you so we can get to know each other. Non-smoker, please.

For all of you accepted on April 12th (and even before). Does anyone know the day the committee met to review applicants in reference to the date you were contacted?

The reason I ask is because for those of us who interview on April 29th, we were told they would be meeting today (5/3) to make decisions.

Just hoping to get a decent idea on when I may find out something. I felt the interview went very well...but I know they are close to being full already. I'm the guy that brought my fiancée and was graduating from FSU that night if anyone was wondering. Had a nice 5 hour drive immediately after the interview lol.

I interviewed on April 1st and they stated that the next committee meeting was going to be on April 12th. I received my acceptance call around 4:30 on April 12th and I believe an email the next day. Good luck!

Hey Guys! I was hoping someone would be able to help me. I interview at Mercer this month and I am EXTREMELY excited, as I've heard nothing but wonderful things about this school. I'm from Tampa and I was wondering what hotel would be the best to stay at. I noticed that the airport isn't as close to the University as I'd hoped...do you guys know of any shuttle service? Or did you just take a cab? Also, does anyone know the interview:acceptance ratio? I'm assuming this will be my last pharmacy school interview. I've only had another one which I wait-listed at 🙁 Any advice at all about where to stay, transportation services, or anything in general about the interview will be very appreciated! Thanks!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣:biglove:!!!!!!Accepted!!!!!!!!!:biglove:🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks! In my excitement, I decided on a new sig.

Perhaps a bit much, but I don't care. 😀

Congrats! I see you also went to FSU! I graduated from there last year. I have an interview at Mercer soon. Do you know what their interview:acceptance ratio is? And could you PM me with any interview advice?! Thanks a ton 🙂

Per the PharmCAS website:

• Estimated number interviewed for fall 2010 Entering Class: 480
• Estimated number accepted: 145

I was told about in January that they were expecting ~2400 applications

Also, I believe they still have spots available. Further, many people that get accepted to Mercer also apply to UGA. Because Mercer's initial deposit is so low, students accepted to Mercer can afford to wait on UGA. So being on the waitlist most definitely does not mean you're out of luck.

I live in the area around Mercer. If I were you, I would try to find a hotel around the Northlake/Tucker area. Specifically, the area around northlake mall. Take a look at the double tree hotel - it's located right on I-285 and Lavista Rd. There's also a Holiday Inn, Quality Inn, Courtyard Mariott, comfort suites and country inn all within vicinity. From this location, Mercer is about a 5-10 minute drive. Be careful staying in hotels in the Chamblee area...depending on where you stay the area can be a little rough...hope this helps!

Hey guys! I have an interview on MAy 20th. Who all is going to be joining me? For those who have already been interviewed, is there an essay you have to write?

No you do not have write an essay. You have a student interview, then an interview by a professor and during the time various people are being interviewed you in a orientation room just interacting with the others interviewing, as well as staff, current students and most importantly some admissions committee. It is really important that you are social and interesting during the mingling session. I would make sure that you go up to Dr. Bartling and Jordana specifically, so that they can put a personality to your face when they review your profile for admission. Hope this kinda helps and don't be to nervous. The people at Mercer are extremely friendly and treat you with the utmost respect. Good luck!

Thank you so much 🙂 I took your advice and booked a hotel in the Tucker area. I really hope this interview goes well!!

To everyone who posted above, I'll be there on the 20th as well. See you all there!! 🙂

I went to UM for undergrad too... I was the only person in the entire P1 and P2 classes from Miami. lol There was another girl from UM, but she was a P3...

I love it here though... I didn't go to my UF interview because I knew I wanted to come here.

man you guys are lucky, i just came from mercer's open house and they have officially increased the pr-reqs to 90 credit hours! hope you guys get in, good luck!

I will be there also! Has anyone been accepted at Lipscomb or Belmont in Nashville or PCOM in Suwannee?

Haha, wow, I really didn't expect anyone else from UM to be at Mercer. Nice pic by the way. I'm looking forward to when UM comes to GT to play football!

I just mailed my second tuition deposit and told the other school i was deciding between "no." Pretty excited.

To all the other posters recently accepted - anyone decided on mercer?

How is everybody going about finding roommates? There is only like maybe 1/3 of the class on the facebook page.

Haha yeah we're very scarce here at Mercer, but luckily there are tons of Miami fans in Atlanta. I'm a member of this group called the Atlanta Friends and Family of The University of Miami, they have a group on FB... but there is a sports bar about 10-15 min away from campus that goes all out with Miami stuff during football games, and they have game watching parties there.

This past year I drove to the Clemson game, and went to the GT game here in Atlanta, but unfortunately they're in Fl this season. I'm almost surely going to the FSU game in Tallahassee though.

If you want, I'll send you a PM with my FB link.

A lot of P1s live alone off campus. There are two apartment complexes within walking distance of Mercer that most first year students live at. They're pretty cheap, but there are others about 1-2 miles away that are 'nicer' if you feel like paying more. It seems like most people in my class lived in the ones closer to campus, and they're pretty decent for the price.

This is awesome - im pumped to have a place to go to watch the games! I'm also pretty sure I'm headed to tallahassee as well - I've already started talking to my old roommates. 5 hour drive not bad at all.

also, yeah PM me with FB info!

So excited about the interview tomorrow! I was going to post on here sooner to see if I could meet any of you interviewing tomorrow, but I got busy! Good luck to all of us and I hope for the best! Safe travels!

Hey! So I guess we have all the same interview dates?? lol I'll see you tomorrow!!! 🙂 🙂

I feel that it went well. Only time will tell. I really liked the professor that I interviewed with, she was awesome! I like how laid back the interview was. Hopefully good news is on the way. Mercer is and has been my number one! How about you all??
