Oh that’s so odd! They emailed us our ranks on the 15th. I wanted to know yours so we could gauge where they are on pulling people off the waitlist for OOS 😅

Interesting, I received the email I got accepted on the morning of 15th, but that’s all I know of. Best of luck to you!!
 
Ah I believe there were people pulled from the waitlist before ranks were made

OOS waitlist is moving! I moved up two spots

We’ll have more movement by the twenty ninth because I think thats the deadline for those who were accepted on the fifteenth

I’m really really hoping the waitlist moves a lot this year. I’m #14 right now, this is my third cycle and I will literally do anything to get accepted 🥲

lol i can recommend where NOT to go. I would avoid anything managed by DTN, and anything that gets into the lansing area. East Lansing, okemos, meridian areas are all pretty safe. I’ve lived in Lansing for about 4 years since graduating undergrad, and I’m only here because it’s cheap. I’ve since realized that there’s a reason for that. I have many instances where I have felt unsafe. I plan to move and pay a higher price for a better area.

is there an area where most vet students live? Im definitely trying to avoid unsafe areas!

Elevation, Berrytree, lodges, woodbrooke villages, campus hill, some live at the quarters.

There’s lots of reasonably priced one bedrooms on Facebook. I found my place there

I lived in the lodges in undergrad and loved it tbh! Availability could be iffy right now though.

Hey there! I am going to be withdrawing my seat very soon! I recently got pulled from waitlist from another school. Was right where you were last year-- waitlisted, actually never got pulled off before class closed and came close to not even reapplying so have hope! Really think it is in the cards for you this cycle! 🙂

Omg this almost made me cry 😭 this is my third cycle so it’s definitely been a slow and painful journey. Thank you so much for telling me this

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give an update. Today I officially notified university and withdrew my seat (OOS for context). Know that class probably will be closing very soon but thought this might give hope to anyone still waiting! I was also recipient of Incoming Student Scholarship from the school (~$5k to be awarded 2025-2026) so that will likely be going to someone here or in the class.

HUGE CONGRATS to everyone this cycle accepted! If we already connected, please continue to stay in touch as would love to hear from you and share in our struggles and wins! Looking forward to working together as future colleagues! 🙂

Hello, Does class of 2029 have a Facebook group or just a Discord? Usually each class does. I'm a third year and looking for a new room mate. I'm 5 minutes from the vet med building or a 25 min walk. Rent is really reasonable ( around $700- $750 each usually with the utilities) and the available room is really spacious. IG let me know if anyone is interested. I'd rather room with another vet student. 😊

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I was #30 on the MMI list and did not get an interview, so I assumed I was nowhere near competitive. Apparently I was closer than I thought. Maybe I'll try applying one more time but I have been trying for years and am getting old, lol.
