Back in the day, we signed an NDA-type agreement for MSU's interview. Not sure if they still do that, but people may not be able to be very specific in their answers to your questions. I was an applicant in the first year of MSU's MMIs, I think they have improved their process by leaps and bounds.
MMIs are closed file, meaning they know absolutely nothing about you beyond your name. You rotate through x amount of timed stations and you will read a prompt, then answer the prompt accordingly. Prompts may have absolutely nothing to do with veterinary medicine. MMIs are designed to be as objective as possible - there is no opportunity for discussing your application, who you are as a person, anything.
Biggest piece of advice (for anyone interviewing at any school): Read the prompts thoroughly, stick to the prompts, and take a second to organize your thoughts before rushing into your answer. Don't try to make small talk with your interviewer, ask them specific questions, bring up specific things from your application (unless it is somehow going to answer the prompt...depends on context) etc. We cannot break from the prompt, and if you continue breaking from the prompt, we may have to make note of that. It happens more often than you'd think! If you're done early, we sit in silence. The entire point of an MMI is that we don't know anything about you, so we judge your answer to the prompt and only that.
