Although I have been on previous interviews, I am getting nervous about tomorrows interview! It is my top choice and was hoping that people would share some insight from their interview experiences! What have been some of the best answers to the questions that you have heard? I have asked some pharmacists that have sat on interview panels and they said they don't want to hear your life story when asked why pharmacy? What would you suggest?

i would just suggest to be honest with yourself. Not particularly tell your whole life story but sum up the important points on why you wanted to pursue pharmacy as a career. I know why i want to do it and i know exactly why this is the right field for me. You need to think about those questions. And plus they are really nice at least the interviewers i had they were attentive and they were really engaging. Even though i was the last group to go i felt they really got to know me as a person and what i am about and why i wanted to go to their school. Make sure you be yourself thats the best advice any one can say. Make yourself be unique!

I was wondering if the school accepts Anatomy and Physiology as an Anatomy requirement as my university doesn't offer it individually. I am guessing this is the reason why it is still listed as a missing requirement. Any suggestions? 😕

I attend a local community college and they give out a list of all the acceptable coursework for Midwestern. Anatomy and Physiology is on the list. You should call the school and find out what the problem is.

Hi, are they going to accept only one semester of Anatomy and Physiology or they need the entire sequence (two semesters)? I have taken only one semester of A&P and I hope that's enough for them.....thanks!

did you get accepted? If so, you better call them to find out if you met all their prerequisites.

Thanks for the Post! I felt the interview was very inviting and that they made you feel very comfortable with being yourself!
However, should I worry that they were asking the other applicant to go first the majority of the time when they asked the questions? It was only myself and one other applicant that was quiet and reserved so I'm not sure what to think, were they just trying to get her to come out of her shell and talk a little more or where they interested more in what she had to say?
For those who have been accepted, did they have you go first when directing the questions to the applicants? Do you remember if they showed any preferences or singled you out in any way different from the other applicants? Maybe I'm over analyzing 🙁 !
Just curious! I guess I will soon find out with that being the last interview!

My interview was the very first one of the cycle and MWU-CPG was my first acceptance. I interviewed with 2 other people and during the interview we got called on to begin. So being singled out definitely does not mean they like you more or less. I suggest for some questions you answer first and for others you should wait and listen to the other candidates. Also, if one of the other candidates takes your answers it's also good to say "Like (insert name here) said..." Well, hope this helps. Good luck! The best thing to do is to not be nervous.

Anyone have any idea about the financial aid help Midwestern offers? ~$60,000 is an awful lot of money. What are the odds of getting a federal loan for the first year and not getting enough for subsequent years and having to leave the program? Lots of questions running through my head before Fri. 13th (day I have to deposit).

Congratulations on your acceptance!

I just checked the paperwork that they gave to us during the financial aid talk and it looks like the Staford loans have an 'aggregate limit' of $224,000. I think this means that over the course of your schooling (undergrad & grad & professional) you can take out this amount in Federal Stafford loans. There is also limited numbers of scholarships and grants provided by chain pharmacy stores and pharmaceutical companies.

Good luck with your decision!

So March 6th is the very last interview??? Is that what the adcoms said at the interview? I was scheduled for that date but couldn't make it due to an emergency. There was no other date available to reschedule it to at the time so I click on "cancel". When I did it on the interactive, it says:

"No dates available.
You will be notified when more
dates are made available."

What does this mean?? Will there be more dates or did I just blow my chance for the last interview???

I would call the admissions office to talk to them in person and see what they can tell you. I can't imagine that they wouldn't work something out with you. But definitely call them...soon!!!

Good luck!

Are there any current Midwestern-Glendale students that post here? I had some questions for them.

i feel you im taking 26 units right now at UCI and then +6 more at a CC to finish pre reqs :-( im dying!

I got into the pharmacy program at my university... I may decline and withdraw my acceptance in hopes another deserving student gets pulled out of the waitlist. 👍

Hey BearDown:
I can image how you feel, I have a friend who also interviewed Feb. 19th and she is getting nervous as well! I interviewed on the 6th of March and was able to ask them some questions on a few things!
They sent out their last round of acceptances on Feb. 13th or 14th and are waiting until the deadline to pay the matriculation passes before they send out any more acceptances so they can find out how many seats are actually available! So they will be deciding on both Feb. 17th and Mar. 6th, I'm assuming on the same day, which will be early next week I believe! Also not sure if this is something you want to hear, but I asked today about how many seats remained open based on the matriculation payments they've received, and they told me the last they could remember there are only ~20 seats left between your and my interview :~(
Hope that is helps!

I think the deadline already passed but you can still do it.

26 units at UCI, not including the 6 units at a CC?? You're crazy! I'm already dying from the 10 units at UCSD + 4 unit of anatomy at a CC!

I assume they're not going to invite anymore people for interviews, or at least from the hold pool?

I will see you soon 😀

I have a question for those of who already paid the $1000 deposit.

Do you get to pay the money online? or check?

Thanks in advance🙂

I paid online. I don't remember if there was an option to pay by check though. I could be wrong. So you only get 1 week to pay your deposit?

Tha payment is due by 20th, but the payment button still doesn't work yet.

So, how long does it take for an official notification of acceptance to arrive? I learned of my acceptance via the website, but I have not received any sort of notification from the school.

give it a couple weeks it took mines 2 weeks

What is a hold for an interview mean? Is this a nicer way of rejection? Has anyone gotten off the hold and got an interview? How likely is that?

i think at this point if they never pulled you off from a hold for interview, that means it realllyyy doesnt look good.

hold for interview means that they will take another look at your app later in the appl cycle and MAYBE grant you an interview.

But they are done with interviews already...

When was your interview?

I interviewed Jan 5th and still haven't received my &%*#ing official acceptance letter. I called admissions, they said they're backed up trying to process the last rounds of interviews/acceptances and will send them out shortly... crazy!

I have a feeling I'm going to get my FAFSA award letter before Midwestern Glendale sends a letter to my house, which is in Glendale! I wonder if I could just go there and pick it up 😕

Have all decisions been made? I interviewed March 6th and see no change to my online profile/page. Where do they post whether you have been accepted/denied or is everyone notified by email first?

They don't send you an email. Your online page will be updated and eventually (and in my case... still not yet) will receive a letter in the mail.

When you login to your account, click on Matriculation/Payment. You should see a matriculation agreement stating your acceptance. Also, more tabs will be available to you including Financial Services, Student Services, IT...

Good Luck!

Thank you for this info. I keep checking the webpage and see no changes, I wish they would just email us to keep us notified, good luck to you too!

Had my interview on 2/19 and I haven't heard anything and no changes in the website, but I'm not bothered at all, because I'm goin' ta UA!! ^________^ Congrats to everyone who have been accepted to Midwestern though! I really loved all the people I met during my Midwestern interview, it was probably the most fun I've had in a while (sad huh? 🙂)

I can't wait to see everyone in June...................

Has anyone heard anything about on campus housing assignments?

Has anyone heard anything about on campus housing assignments?

The on-campus housing assignments will be sent out to us by the end of March since I emailed Jose Ponce few days ago. I'm looking into other apartments in case I don't recieve acceptance to on campus housing.

Does anybody here know any great apartments near Midwestern or any suggestions where they would stay at?
