Hello,

I am an LPC in Ohio currently under supervision working to LPCC. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about transferring either hours or licensure to Virginia?

Also, how do the educational requirements work when transferring? The only course I do not have would be one focusing on addictions. Would I be required to take this course before being employed as a Counselor in Residency or LPC?

Not sure what that best strategy is. Should I get my LPCC, then transfer; transfer ASAP with my hours, and so on.

I don't even mind if I have to start over with 0 hours as a counselor in residency. Will I be able to be employed as such with my Master's from Ohio? Would I need to take the addictions course first?

Your best bet is to contact the licensure board in VA and explain your situation. They make the final decision with regards to licensure.
